I usually go to the Mississauga location and was evertime good experience , in food quality and freshness and you get served as a sit-in with real Cutlery and plates. This food chain is expensive and you expect value for your Money. I visited Oakville location today and was shocked with the quality, pies (Manakeesh ) shrank in size ( compared to price) had 3 different types ( meat, Muhammarah-cheese and zaatar with labneh and veggies , Veggies are NOT fresh they use compo-stable dishes not real plates with cheap plastic plates and cutlery . I had fatteh and yogourt was sour . I asked the server about the Veggie plate he said it doesnt come with Fatteh !!! $18 plate , i always had it at the Mississauga location( you get Onions ,turnips, Olives, pickles,Fresh Mint ,radish , Cucumber and Tomatoes so fresh and presentable). He then realized and possibly wanted to please me and placed a small container of "veggies" , i wish he didnt as tomatoes and Cucumber were stale and not fresh, with some pickles and large piece of Onion thats it. Even the $3.5 Tea was in a small plastic cup with none fresh Mint. Servers dont seem have interest in serving you and got my order wrong for the the Zaatar-Labneh. I hope the Mississauga location still up its original standards. Otherwise its my last time i visit that place.Oakville location is...
Read moreI don't usually give reviews relating to restaurants. However, this one time I had to. I strongly believe their pricing is outrageous despite the tasting of the food! If anyone has heard of AL Deewan Bakery in Scarborough their manakeesh is exceptional and flavourful and I believe higher quality at Half the Price!!! I just feel this food chain is overpriced for low quality dough and cheese. Sometimes the price makes up with atmosphere. But nothing special with this store basic plastic utensils and cardboard plates. So pay more for a better experience, I agree! but pay more for basic experience basic taste not worth it. Music really loud and toilets very dirty. I would not recommend this store. I do not understand how they have high ratings maybe cause there is no other middle eastern like restaurant in the area. But if anyone reading checks out al deewan you will see no comparison and worth every minute of one's drive to scarborough to eat something that taste out of this world and at a...
Read moreCheeZaatar is the upscale version of the manaqeesh restaurants, it is their "Louis Vuitton". Obviously, you pay a tiny bit extra than other places selling manaqeesh but it is totally worth it especially if you plan to dine in. They play songs for old singers like Faiirouz "think Frank Sinatra level" and the smell of fresh dough just fills the air. The manaqeesh was obviously fresh and hot, just out of the oven. They use the traditional stone/brick oven which gives the authentic touch of our manaqeesh back in the middle East. I have reviewed other manaqeesh restaurants but they were on the "local/traditional" level with no place to sit too, just grab-n-go eat in the car style with juicy melted cheese dripping yum yum, CheeZaatar gives you the same authentic but on a better level that you can take your spouse there for a nice Mediterranean traditional breakfast. I wish the owners all the best and hope they grow bigger to give us a larger dining area. Highly...
