I have been going to this place from time to time for the past 10 years for both dine in and take outs. They offer decent and a diverse range of foods, and it is one of the rare Vietnamese spots in Oakville. Recently they had increased overall prices and I thought it was reasonable, while not loving the idea, because everything nowadays has increased. But one thing that bothered me a lot was the quality of food. I usually order a bowl of pho and one of their appetizers like the springroll selection. For pho, I noticed how the amount of ingredients such as the beef, tripe, and beef balls are so small in portion. At first, I thought it was a mistake or a fluke because there were inconsistencies in the past (like flavor and portions) depending on the day and hour. So I had dined in and deliveries a few more times, but every time, the portions of the ingredients were consistently and significantly smaller. 2 pieces of beef, 1 beef ball, and a few strips of tripe. Instead, they included so much noodles, I left 1/3 of it each time. Maybe some people like x large portion of noodles in medium size amount of soup, and maybe this place is for them, but usually pho's flavor changes when they are unbalanced like that. I don't order from them any more or dine there, which is a shame because I often have cravings for Vietnamese cuisine. I instead order from Pho Mama in Oakville or turn to locations in Mississauga or even Burlington despite the wait time, travel, or higher delivery fees because Little Saigon has lost their touch. I feel that it's very unfortunate because it was one of the few decent Vietnamese restaurants...
Read moreToday I ordered my two soups over the phone for a pick-up at Little Saigon 88. It was my first time, but I wasn't impressed with the waitresses unfriendly manner over the phone. When I got to the restaurant I was informed by the waitress that the price on their in-store menu and their online menu were wrong. The price advertised is $13.49 for a large soup. The waitress said it's now $15.??. With the noise I couldn't hear her clearly. But on my bill I was charged $15.99 for each large soup, not including the tax. The total bill for Little Saigon 88 was $36.14 Then when I went to pay for the soup I'm expected to pay a tip of 15% or more, which I didn't. I gave a tip, but less than 10%. I make less then then minimum wage, so why should I pay that percentage, especially when I'm driving and using my own gas to pick-up my order. It's different if I'm eating inside the restaurant and I'm being served. But I wasn't. Then, when I returned home I found very little beef and chicken in my order. Needless to say, I was so disappointed to see very little meat for a pricey soup. I won't order from this restaurant again. The previous Vietnamese food I ordered last week from Pho Dau Bo Restaurant in Mississauga had lots of meat with the same two soup orders and they only charged me $14.69 (including taxes with the total...
Read moreI was here multiple times, The food was really great, But today evening I came here and ordered a bowl of pho, with explicit instructions of half noodle, as I didn’t want a bowl full of noodle, The place was not too busy, and I got a bowl FULL of noodle, I finished my food quietly and then I went to pay, I just told the lady at the counter about it, quitely without raising my voice or anything of that kind, I really dident care but wanted to bring it to her attention as i did like the place,,but she didn’t want to listed and said that it is half noodle, I literally had a bowl full of noodles left on the table as I didn’t eat them.. I didn’t want to make a big deal out of it and said in a respectful tone, what ever.. the lady literally lashed out , not just brushed it off, but snapped, screamed, and burned her own name in front of staff and guests., called me disrespectful and made a huge deal from it, she said she was the owner and she don’t care if I don’t come back, she said I win some and loose some, everyone were at shock as the other waiters know me and they even were embarrassed for her, I always tipped generously here and never disrespected anyone.
I left quietly but I will never come back again.
