Located in a strip mall on Dundas St. W. and Prince Michael Dr. in Oakville, Royal Paan By Punjaabi specializes in Indian style street food. They are located in various areas throughout the GTA and was originally established to serve and prepare Paan dishes. In addition to street food, the restaurant does have a fair selection of traditional Indian fare. It should be noted that there are no overhead menu boards to read by walk-in patrons interested in ordering take-out. As such, it would be best to view their online menu prior to arriving at the restaurant to place your order as their on-line menu cannot process food orders at this time. The food items selected were well prepared, fresh, flavourful, delicious, but mildly spiced. The price point for many of the items offered on their menu range from very good value to very reasonable when compared to other Indian style restaurants. Wait time was found to be average, and is dependent upon the food items selected. The restaurant itself is very clean, softly lit, and well organized. Additionally, it is fairly spacious and consists of open table seating that has been arranged in typical fast-food fashion amidst Indian themed decor that contributes toward making the area a warm and comfortable environment for dining. Staff in the restaurant were found to be very helpful, easy-going, and courteous. Overall the restaurant is fairly decent with respect to value for the money, and...
Read moreSometimes you are so glad to deviate from plans. Feeling lazy to cook dinner, we left home with the intention of having pizza at a nearby outlet and then noticed Royal Paan very near it. We saw some good reviews and wanted to give it a try. The best part is food here was cooked with love and you could feel it while eating. The lady at the counter was very patient and helping. We had a thali, Kathi roll, samosa chat, tea, lassi, pastries and paan. Thali: as much I would want to say 5/5, I would say 4.8/5 as the kofta was a bit cold. All gravies in the thali tasted yummy. Samosa Chat: My wife was annoyed that this came ahead of others as me and my son ate half of her portion 😜. 5/5 Kathi Roll: My son loved it, I have no option but to give 5/5 as he didn’t allow us to taste it 😊 We were so glad to find a place with eggless pastry. We tried mango and chocolat. These came out of the refrigerator so were a bit hard. Would recommend anyone who orders it to request them for microwave 10-15 sec before serving. The other highlight I wanted to call out was the paan, enjoyed a paan after a long time. The ambience was awesome with some nice soft music playing.
Cheers and thanks for the...
