TO THE OWNER, YOU HAVE A PROBLEM
This use to be a great area sushi place. I had visited this sushi place a number of times over the years and always thought. I have been going their since they opened. I was happy to support this local business.
The owner of this establishment needs to make regular visits if they are not or they need to hire a manager who is concerned about customer service and the dinning experience of the customer. I also think the Mgt might want start treating its staff with some respect and care. As I believe the downhill customer service MIGHT be a combination of how people treat other people or the expectations they put on people, This kind of stuff does not happen on its own.
PROBLEMS The staff should not be mopping with bleach or disinfectant while people are eating. They close at 11:30 and floor washing should not be happening at 10:15 ( this happened) The bleach was over powering When I told the waitress she smiled and giggled to my face.
The full sweeping of the restaurant should not be happening while people are eating ( (9:40 this happened )' dust and dirt while you eat. I understand spot sweep as it is a small place and you want to keep things clean. The full sweeping is uncalled for and unprofessional.
The black clothes worn by staff has white stains ( looks disgusting)
The Tempura batter smells old ( you really do not want this in a sushi place.
the lettuce was brown ( it was a garnish)
The Miso soup came with a very large silver spoon in it ( a problem with cutlery).
The Sushi counter where it is prepared is over crowded with to many things. These a serious problems for a sushi restaurant, some might say these are small things THEY ARE NOT they tell you of some other underlying problems and blatant problems . I feel like these things should tell everyone something
Overtime I have noticed bigger and bigger changes. At First they were subtle but now they are taking their customers for granted and it has gotten to the point where it is disgusting and inconsiderate. They are purposely choosing to insult customers. When they first opened it was not like this at all. After reading some of the other problems I...
Read moreI have been a long time customer of Sushi Hour. In fact, I used to eat one lunch and at least one dinner there every week when I worked close by. I also use them quite a lot for take-out. However, I have decided to no longer frequent the actual restaurant after getting really poor service the last three times I was there with my family. I went in this past weekend at a time when the restaurant was not busy. First of all, we noticed one of the employees asleep in one of the front booths, shielded only by a screen which I found really inappropriate. But I was there with my son who was hungry so we placed our order. First of all, nothing they brought was correct. We ordered two soups and got one. A dozen pieces of sashimi, but got 8. A sushi pizza that never came. The spicy tuna roll was all filler and even the waitress couldn't deny that you could hardly see any tuna in there. We never got our tea or water refilled once. Eventually I had to get up and go to the cashier to ask for the missing food. We still never got our soup. And if that wasn't enough, the waitress took away my plate before I was even done eating. I finally decided to mention how terrible the service had been but this was met with only a quick sorry. The food at Sushi Hour is good when we order take-out, but the service in the restaurant is...
Read moreNot sure why the reviews are so horrible, although because of the reviews I avoided anything raw. I got my son the beef rib combo which was ALOT of food for the price. I added some shrimp tempura for free delivery and also got spring rolls for free. Was a bang for your buck and the Cali roll wasn’t bad. For 23$ we got 8 beef ribs, rice, mixed veggies , veg tempura, salad (my biggest disappointment lol just iceberg lettuce and dressing loool, gyozas a miso soup and some super fresh orange slices. Food was more than edible the price was good so no complaints other than my salad 😂 Update: So I now order here regularly, we still always get the beef ribs combo my sons fave. He gets ribs and rice I steal his soup salad and tempura lol. New items I’ve tried is the grilled squid it was delicious. The beef ribs combo is so big that with the squid I could probably feed 2 people and a kid… But my ultimate fave is the salmon salad maki roll (there’s no rice and it’s wrapped with cucumber) sooooo delicious (so I have adventured into their raw food it’s super fresh) Since moving to east Oakville the amount of money I’ve wasted on food that’s super expensive im trying to write my reviews more because I feel like more people should Because the diversity isn’t the best here so it’s exciting when finding a gem...
