Last night I was invited to join friends for a goodbye gathering for a friend who was moving to another country for a a job opportunity. The service and food was ok. But then a gentleman, perhaps in his 50's, was intrigued because he noticed a group of over 20, but of different races and nationalities. He told us he was Irish Catholic. He was told that the group of over 20 was not composed of Catholics. For nearly 1 hour, my friends and I were subjected to verbal attacks and harassment because he didn't like seeing people of our religious faith in the pub. Yes, he was drunk, but he was well aware of what he was doing. The manager of the pub was a spineless coward who basically did nothing to stop the man. I spoke with the man and informed him that he was interrupting our gathering and it wasn't appreciated and requested that he please leave. The spineless coward of a manager basically did nothing. It took another patron of the pub to get the drunk, disgraceful fool of a man, to leave the establishment. I told the manager the police should have been called. No customer or patron should be subjected to a harassment for any reason for nearly 1 hour. I hope to never enter this pub again. But if I do, and anything similar occurs again, I will call the police. I recommend anyone who goes to this pub to simply call the police if you are ever subject to harassment for any reason. You can't count on the manager because he is a coward and has no spine. The waitress made a good effort but to no avail and she did not have the authority to...
Read moreNine months ago I left a review respecting the liver and onions. Now I am amending that review. We finally decided to try this restaurant again. So, the first time we came back it was pretty good. Next time we had to leave because the server was so swamped that after fifteen minutes our drink order still wasn't served. Tonight we tried again. We watched our server practically running from table to table trying to accommodate everyone. Her name is Kristin. We had to ask the other server to request our bill. When Kristin gave us our bill I mentioned that it seemed quite unreasonable that her service area was so widespread.
She mentioned that she was just assigned a party of 40-50 and she still had 6-8 tables in our area. Ridiculous to expect any server to be able to accommodate this many people without someone becoming irate that they needed to wait so long for service. So unfair to the servers!
As an ex-server in many capacities, my observation is that each time this restaurant is so incredibly understaffed for situations that invariably come up. If they had a handle on what was going on in the area, they would have known there was a hockey tournament within 1000 metres of their restaurant and could have made staff accommodations...
Read moreOn Sunday February 14th 2021 I had the worst experience dinning in my time life at this place. As my company and I were still eating after 15 minutes receiving the food on the table, the server with Asian features approached our table and said we had half an hour to finish our meal and leave the restaurant. I think there are ways and ways to manage the whole capacity time limit at the restaurant and not the way it was handled by pushing us away as we were still eating. My company right away lost her appetite and the server didn't have any regrets for her action. I am sure not every server at this place is like that but I hope this review teaches something to that server. Going to any restaurant is not only about the food but the entire feel environment around it and the servers have a big portion to make it feels special...
