Had the best cheesiest bacon cheddar omelette ever, but the coffee is almost undrinkable, the cheapest low end restaurant quality they could find I'm sure.

They don't have real cream for the coffee, instead they serve "creamer" so they can save a penny or whatever on each one and 2% milk instead of whole milk.

I wonder if I was served toast with margarine instead of butter, probably considering their cheap creamer use.

The sour cream rhubarb pie is very good.

They didn't have the chocolate carrot cake, which is one of the best things they make - not carrotty at all. It's just a super moist chocolate cake. But they just didn't bother to make it this weekend, so you can't trust they'll have it. Call ahead if you want to try it. That was the main reason for going there as it is truly amazing. They don't use real whipped cream on their pies, although that is unfortunately common at a lot of restaurants at this level. The male waiter was great. The female waiters we've had in the past are also great.

Considering the generous amount of expensive bacon and cheddar cheese they used and their excellent desserts, the fake creamer and horrible coffee is perplexing. I would have given 5 stars except for the coffee and...

Billy's Downtown Deli Review London Ontario Canada

Had a hankering for a toasted Western with home fries and decided to pop into Billy's today. As a former downtown London employee, it's a spot I haven't visited since my retirement. I've always had a soft spot for this place, but its 1:30 p.m. weekend closing time has made it an elusive treat.

I walked in around 12:30 and the place was clearly hopping. A friendly server showed me to a table mentioning it would be wiped down in a moment. I took a seat and waited patiently, eagerly anticipating my long-lost breakfast. But alas, as is often the case in a busy restaurant, I found myself in a bit of a waiting game.

I watched as a new party came in and was immediately seated at a freshly wiped table. A thought popped into my head: "Hey, what about me?" I couldn't help but chuckle at the situation—I suppose my table-wiping fairy was running late.

After a few minutes, I decided to take a rain check and headed out. Given how bustling the place was, I'm chalking it up to a busy Saturday afternoon rush. I'm going to wait until my next visit to properly assess my beloved Billy's. Until then, I'm keeping my star rating in a neutral holding...

TERRIBLE first impressions. Walked in, sat down at a table for 4 and waited for our friends. Server came by several minutes later and asked us to move so they could slide tables together for a larger group. So we moved to a table in the middle aisle. Larger group sat down where we'd just vacated and were promptly served coffee and water. We still had nothing. We asked for a high chair so our friends didn't have to hold their daughter on their lap. New server said we can't do that because it would block the aisle and it's a fire escape route. Didn't come up with any helpful suggestions for us. The attitude of the 2nd server seemed to be "whatever... just hold the kid on your lap". Made us feel very welcome (NOT)! So, we moved yet again and squeezed into a smaller table by wall so we could use a high chair. This table wasn't set up for service. A 3rd server came by eventually, and we told her how we weren't feeling very welcome. Almost left, but decided to stay. When it did come, the food was good, and our 3rd server was nice. But based on the poor reception from Server #1 and #2, don't think we'll...

Best overall breakfast restaurant in London. Billy's greatest strengths are the consistency of their food and the the quality of their service. As far as I know most, if not all, of their food is cooked or overseen by a single person (one of the owners) which results in a consistently tasty result every visit/order. Other than a slight variance in the cook on their home fries (which ranges from pretty good to awesome), everything they serve is absolutely delicious! If Billy's could somehow copy the breakfast burrito from The Early Bird (godly) and swap out their current breakfast wrap option (IMO the weakest item on their menu) with a similar recipe to what Campus Hi-fi is doing, then I would never need to visit another breakfast spot in London. My favorites include the Mixed Grill (apple pancakes for the sweet option), Spicy Jumbo Omelette and any version of their skillet, but honestly you can't really go wrong with anything on their menu. Check Billy's Facebook for weekend specials as the crunchy french toast and big grill specials are borderline life changing events!

My husband wanted to have a nice breakfast for his birthday and we came because the place had a good review on it. The food came cold and eggs had a piece of shell in it. After waiting for a while for no reason (there were three tables nobody cleaned for a while), we had to ask to be moved inside. The waitresses had the brilliant idea of putting little cups with honey, maple syrup and jam besides our table to attract the wasps. We couldn't chew for more than two times without waving our phones and napkins to take them out of our faces. We weren't moved inside at all - they came to offer after over 30 minutes, when we were almost done eating. I wouldn't come back even if I could eat for free. Food is not exceptional, you can eat at other diners for the same price (better food and way better experience).
