A MUST TRY!!! We were visiting London from Toronto for my birthday and found this place on Google. We entered and were greeted by the owner. He was very friendly and respectful. The ambiance is very nice as well even though we were the only ones in there. I'm sure it would be great after the pandemic with the chit chat of other happy guests in the background. When we ordered, he helped us find entrees that would suit our taste and was able to make some substitutions for us (don't expect this every time though! We were lucky that the other items were available that day/ season)
When we got the food, we were surprised to notice the portion sizes! It was SO MUCH FOOD for half the cost we would pay in Toronto. But more than that, after we tasted it, it was not only 'fine dining' quality in presentation but it was fresh and authentic! How could I tell? My mom is from Lahore and makes channe a very specific way that is exclusive to Lahore. In 32 years, I've never found that taste anywhere, until this place! Very very authentic! And believe me when I say the food was gourmet, not fast food or quickly made for mass production. There were very specific spices in the food that don't come in spice packets, they have to be added by the chef. The little details, like the cilantro IN the dishes not just garnished on top, and actual cream in the butter chicken, showed that they put effort into their dishes! If you can't tell already with the length of this review, this place was absolutely amazing! We can't wait to make the 2.5 hour drive out again!
Oh, and we got an hour and half into our drive home and the falooda still wasn't melted. They didn't use the cheap ice milk you find in Walmart. They used good ice cream (cream had a higher fat content so it melts slower)

Read moreWent to London for a day to attend an event. We’re looking for a halal restaurant and found this in google. Based on the reviews, we decided to give it a try. The ambiance was good and felt like fine dining restaurant. Greeted by someone after entering and sat down in a cozy place. We ordered chicken biriyani, naan and beef sheek kabab karahi. Water was served before someone came in to take our order. It didn’t take long for the food to arrive and it was hot and well presented. We both savoured the food as it was very tasty and perfectly spiced to our tastebuds. The only thing missing with our experience were utensils. We’re given spoons but no forks or knives. Also, we had ask for napkins. Given it is a fine dining restaurant, one do not expect them to forget about the essentials of eating mentioned above. Other than that, this restaurant is a place for people looking for halal food with...
Read moreTonight, I found myself downtown eating Pakistani food. The place is Karahi and Grill. If you haven’t had Pakistani before, it is a lot like Indian food.
Karahi has the feel of a nightclub. The furniture is state of the art, and lights colour the ceiling purple. Club music added to the swanky atmosphere. It was also almost empty, and this allowed me to chill out with the food and music.
My appetizer was Paneer Tikka Masala. I had this with butter naan. Honestly, this wasn’t as good as I expected. The flavour was off. I tasted lime and mint.
Goat Karahi was my entree, and I saved some naan for this, too. Karahis are cooked with garlic, tomatoes, and homemade spices. Every spoonful had tremendous flavour.
I paid $68.
Karahi and Grill gets a 10/10 for presentation. The owner was polite and easy going. It’s a great spot for...
