Blak's Bakery — Restaurant in Ontario

I started coming to this place 60 years ago when my grandpa would take me here on Saturday's. The bread was the best in the city you couldn't find a place with good service and even better products like here. Living in the county now I try to make it back here as much as I can but the quality of the bread is really hit and miss. I realized that the quality is best on Wednesday's and Thursday's and is poor on Sunday's and Monday's. I went in a couple months ago on a Wednesday it was great to see Valerie behind the counter and the Vienna was great. I went in this past Sunday and have had this problem on Monday's as well. My Vienna had a massive hole right through it. Whoever they have making the bread Sunday's and Monday's definitely needs baking lessons or should find another job because they have no idea what they're doing. I grew up on the Vienna bread Blak's bakery has made. It has been 8 years since I have been to Blak's and a few months ago, I was back in Windsor and just had to have a loaf of Vienna. What happened to the Vienna? It is now, just like the cheapest buns you buy at Penny (supermarket chain in EU). Actually, that loaf is worse, as at least the buns are palatable for a few hours after you buy them freshly made in the morning. The garbage they make now...isn't even good when it is fresh Awful, plastic like. No aroma, crust, texture and color are all wrong.. Total garbage...had one bite...even though I knew it wasn't necessary....and threw that loaf out. One Hundred years of traditional bread making thrown out the window....

If only I could give this ZERO stars!! Sought to pre-order 12 Paczkis OF MY CHOICE, was told I could not. Had to take the 12 mixed that they put together. After horrendous service, where they served others who arrived after me, I finally got these highly touted Paczkis. They were anything but memorable. Very average. Hardly any fill. And here is the kicker......they loaded five prune amongst the dozen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Out of 8 to choose from, they loaded FIVE of the bloody PRUNE ONES that virtually nobody wants!! I won't be back. How you guys have been in business for 100 years is beyond me. Here's hoping you get it together for the next 100, or you won't be around...
