If you're vegan, you must try this place. If you're not vegan, you must try this place. We added Windsor as a pit stop on our drive from Pittsburgh to Detroit specifically to eat here and it did not disappoint. We arrived right as they opened and were seated immediately. Our server (I think the owner, as well?) gave us the run down on their menu, provided some suggestions, and chatted with us a bit about our hometown as well as Windsor. All of their meats and cheeses are made in-house. The menu has so many great options. We each had a Rose City Beer Works beer, which is brewed below the restaurant. We ordered lunch and some food to go for a late night snack. The Reuben was so much better than a normal Reuben; it had the right amount of peppery flavor, on-point thousand island dressing, and didn't leave me feeling greasy and nasty like real meat would have. I got poutine for my side and holy cow, again, I'm moving to Canada. My boyfriend got the Philly cheese steak, which he thoroughly enjoyed. We were easily convinced on dessert: carrot cake (generous portion, moist, and yummy!) and a chocolate chip cookie. Our to go order consisted of the noochwrap supreme (Taco Bell style), turkey Bacon club, and Caesar salad. These held up well for our late night post-concert snack. The club was very filling and stuffed full of meats and toppings. The salad was better than I expected. The noochwrap was not a huge portion like the other meals, but still very good. The interior decor was really cool and I also appreciated the silly artwork in the bathroom. I wish my town had a vegan restaurant as dedicated and with such a great variety of quality options like this one, so I guess I'll just have to make more frequent trips to Canada until I make the move. 😜 Can't wait to go back! Oh, and I also got a cute zip-up hoodie because I'm a sucker for...
Read moreVisited Nooch for the first time today! They opened at 11:30am and Maggie immediately greeted us and let us know we could sit anywhere. I really enjoyed the look of Nooch. It had a bar and a variety of seating. A Post Malone concert was playing on the TV and it could be heard throughout the restaurant and bathroom. The restaurant was very clean and welcoming.
We sat at a booth in the center of the restaurant and Maggie went over the menu with us. There are SO MANY great options it was hard to choose but I went for the Reuben with a side of fries. Maggie told us that the bread for the Reuben is made at Blak's Bakery nearby and that the corned beef is made in house! My husband ordered the Big Mock with a side of fries and gravy! We both inhaled our food, sharing it with our toddler. I wish I had taken photos because the presentation was not only beautiful and Instagram worthy but absolutely worth the visit. Guess you'll have to just visit and see for yourself! ;)
Maggie was super sweet. She asked if we would like a plastic cup with lid and straw for our kiddo, which we appreciated. She also brought over crayons and a Jetson's coloring page. She even asked if Post Malone's language (swearing) was okay since we had our toddler with us.
We had a great experience! The food portions were very large which was great since we brought our appetite. We ordered two slices of cake for the road. The bar looks like it would be fun for a night out. I love that this is an option for us that is totally worth the drive.
Thank you, Maggie! It was absolute pleasure meeting you and conversing with you! Thank you for...
Read moreWe had a delightful time at nooch. It's comfort food, but not just burgs, fries, and nachos. Great menu diversity: Cuban sandwich! Reuben! Gyro! We ended up over-ordering on purpose to try a good variety and have leftovers for later (the right choice honestly):
vitality salad. We got the half portion. Fresh simple salad with a spinach/herb dressing poutine fries. The half portion was a really good size. The gravy was super flavorful and the cheese curds took it to the next level Angry Mum Burger. Comes with choice of Impossible, Beyond, or Not burger (we opted for Impossible). It's a tough call because everything was great but this was my winner of the night. The spicy ketchup (made by the owner's aunt and uncle) mixed so well with the mayo and cheese Montreal steak noochwrap. Another unreal combination of sauces, with steak tips and nacho cheese. We ended up eating most of this as a leftover and, gotta say, it saved extremely well. The combination of flavors/ingredients was perfectly balanced The Cuban. A very classic Cuban made with shredded seitan. We went with yellow mustard (alternative being dijon) Carrot cake (for take out). We ate it the next morning. Deliciously moist, not overly sweet, light buttercream. A primo complement to our coffee
Ambiance: rock n roll. We loved that there's a full bar and they have great music playing. The TV plays music videos (when we stopped in, we got to enjoy Strokes, Kasabian, Foals, all right...
