I decided to treat myself today by ordering from this so-called restaurant through Uber Eats, and I cannot express how much I regret it. I was charged a ridiculous $42 for what should have been a simple meal—a pop, some garlic sauce, and a mixed shawarma sandwich. At that price, I expected at least a decent portion and quality food, but instead, what I received was downright insulting.
Let’s start with the packaging. They sent my order in a flimsy plastic bag, which is not only terrible for the environment but also completely impractical. To make matters worse, they carelessly threw the pop inside with the food, so by the time it arrived, everything was ice-cold and unappetizing.
And then there’s the sandwich, if you can even call it that. When I say it was small, I mean comically small, as if it was made for a child’s lunchbox rather than a paying customer. As a Middle Eastern man who grew up eating shawarma, I know exactly what a proper portion looks like, and this was nothing short of a rip-off. For the outrageous price they charge, I expected something satisfying, but instead, I was left hungry and furious.
The ingredients were just as disappointing. The vegetables were stale and lifeless, the meat was practically non-existent, and to top it off, the bread was disgustingly soggy. It felt like it had been sitting around for hours before being thrown into my order. This wasn’t just a bad meal; it was an insult to Middle Eastern cuisine.
Absolutely Disgraceful A Total Waste of Money
Spending $42 for this disaster of a meal is beyond unacceptable. Save yourself the disappointment, the frustration, and most importantly, your hard-earned money. This place is a complete scam, and I would never order from here again, even if it was the last...
Read moreI ordered food from here for $50+ after seeing the "good" reviews. As a background, I've travelled quite a bit globally and know quality foods really well. Farouj was by far one of the worst shawarma foods I've had. The food was really oily (the cardio-oily, which is detrimental). The meats were non-fresh, especially the beef which had chewy fatty chunks in each bite. It didnt taste like meat, just hardy scant, overcooked dry meat smothered in fat that was intermittently perspiring out. I would rate the food an 8.8 with 10 being the most disgusting. The only restaurant that beats Farouj is probably Mosul Grill which I would rate a 9.6 disgusting. I believe there is a nasty supplier of beef looking fat that ships to these "need to sell garbage to make money" mentalities that run such shawarma places. If you ever see their precooked meats you will change your mind as you will rarely see any real meat among the artery-constricting fats. I don't recommend places like this where their goal is to make money by decreasing quality of food... typical Immigrant, poor newcomer mentality that believes in unethical strategies to get ahead... bad food, tax evasion, etc, etc. After my first bite, I lost a week of my life, and Farouj's food ended up back where it came from... you guessed it, the trash! How dangerous are these practices of such restaurants? Lose a week of life, yet have to pay for it? Not worth! So far, nothing beats Kabobgy's lean meats in their wraps... mmm! And for the "good" reviews, hahaha, we all know how that's done nowadays! Safe...
