Lived in London most of my life but have been away for the past 5 years. Came back to visit to see a new Taco place on Richmond st. Mexican food is my fav so I had to try.
Let's just say I was not disappointed. I ordered a chicken taco salad and a cod taco from the menu. I had the salad first and was instantly hit by so much flavour. The chicken was amazing and the dressing was a lime jalapeƱo which was not overpowering and still let the chicken come through.
I didn't think the taco would give me any other surprises after the salad. I was wrong. While the size of the taco was smaller than you get at those crappy borritto places it was not the pint. The cod was wrapped in two delicious hand made tortillas. The right amount of toppings and the sauce didn't drown out the taste of the fish but complimented it very nicely. I was really pleased and definitely recommend the cod.
I was hoping for something good and ended up getting something amazing. I am here for one more day in London and I will be heading back for 2nds before I leave. Really great food and I hope londoners check this out and support this little shop, you won't be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreToday, I went to DOS TACOS. I came because I felt it was right to give them a chance for redemption (I rated them lowest at Taco Fest). After all, they are one of Londonersā favourites.
Remember, an order consists of two tacos. This time, it looked like they put everything on one soft taco and left the second soft taco underneath. I placed three orders. All three had mild spice. They asked me if I wanted to choose the ingredients or the recommended toppings. I chose the latter.
I ate the Carne Asada first. It had top sirloin steak, which was grilled and sliced. This taco was spiciest. I liked this one least.
Their fried mushroom taco, Iām A Fungi, was next. Interestingly, its soft taco was purple. Purple tacos/tortillas are that colour because theyāre made of blue corn. This variety offers many benefits: more nutrients, sweeter flavour, and visual appeal. I liked this one most.
My final taco was Taco āBout Shrimp. The shrimp tasted fresh. Iād rank this second best.
The total was $20.34.
DOS TACOS reigned supreme at Taco Fest with the most votes. They didnāt get my vote that day, but theyāre...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat addition to downtown! Finally got a chance to check this place out with my fellow foodie.
What we got: We ordered 2 fish tacos, 2 yam tacos and a salad (my personal favourite). This was more than enough food for the two of us we actually had to take the salad home with us. The prices are fair for what you get. This isnāt Taco Bell, they use real fresh food not stuff squeezed out of a cocking gun or from a freezer.
Atmosphere: The decor was simple, menu was simple, options were clearly laid out on a large black board so no room for confusion. The staff was very pleasant with us and each other. I would recommend this place if youāre looking for a quick dinner downtown. The service was quick but it was also raining outside and the restaurant was not very busy.
Cons: The music was way too loud for how empty it was. I could see it being that loud if it was full, but not on a Tuesday night. Also, I was a little put off by how sexually explicate the songs being played were. More fitted for a bar setting.
Cheers to another great...
