Island Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Ontario

My mother and I ordered from here, and usually their food is amazing and etc. Unfortunately, they took 1:50:00 to get to our house which is just by the LCBO. We called after an hour wondering where our $58 meal was. Our guest had to leave and left hungry. They told us only 15-20 minutes left. After thirty minutes, we called again- at this point we were really hungry. They said it would come soon. We asked to speak to the owner because no take out should take that long to get to a doorstep, and we just wanted to see if they'd give us some free wings on the side to compensate for the time taken (1:30:00). The owner refused to even go onto the telephone, and made the employee tell us "No compensation. No refund. It was under two hours." The employee was fairly rude and obviously couldn't care less. We finally hung up, miffed. No food should take that long to cook, and the owner should've been professional enough to pick up a phone and tell us themselves. After another twenty minutes of waiting, our food finally came. Not even ten minutes away from 2 hours. No refund, no deduction, no compensation. Our guest left hungry, and we were led hungry for almost two hours. Very disappointed in this service. I got the dinner for 5 and 4 cokes. The total was over 100 dollars. They have no debit machine and you have to have cash if you are doing delivery. It took over an hour to get the food. It has basically no flavors. The noodles were sad and clumped together. Portion sizes are also very small. When you could dine in the food seemed better but they have not opened their restaurant up and the quality is suffering. I wouldn't order a burger and fries for takeout, so we ordered Chinese food and it tasted like steamed veggies. They're a nice family local business, but other than that... Their Chinese food is fabulous BUT, twice now on take out orders, we have been shorted. Our fault for not checking before we leave but it shouldn’t be rocket science. We always order the same, dinner for two, 2 extra egg rolls, 1 order of almond guy ding and an extra sweet and sour sauce. First time, forgot the almond guy ding and tonight, forgot the rice. Frustrated because we live half an hour away so by the time we get back to eat, we’re not going to spend another hour on the road. Again great but check your order...
