La Burreria London — Restaurant in Ontario

We were surprised to have been served the best Birria Tacos in Canada!! We stumbled upon this mecixan deli inside Covent Garden Market in downtown London, Ontario in the hopes of grabbing decent late lunch. After making our rounds, this mexican deli with an inviting display of pulled sirloin, chopped onions and various other filling options made us want to try a serving. The owner /chef/ server named Arjay ( not sure if i spelled it correctly) was very accommodating and gave options and recommendations. Turns out everything they serve, she makes from scratch and makes sure everything is fresh on a daily basis. She made our Birria Tacos infront of us with the skillet and a few dips and tosses here and there. It was an experience! The family who runs this local business are lovely. They greet everyone with a smile and are always happy to make something suited to my preferences. I have enjoyed my meal every time I visit, and I look forward to returning again and again.

I find the portions to be very generous. If you ask them for suggestions, they are more than happy to help you narrow down your options, and you can feel the effort they put into each person enjoying their meal. I also appreciate how they were clear about any items or requests that have an additional charge.

Many of the sauces and fresh toppings are made in-house, such as their roasted corn and caramelized pineapple,both were absolutely delicious. Not to mention you can not go wrong when you choose the burrito sauce and Chipotle sauce together - AMAZING!!

First off, the food is good but I would not come here again, nor recommend it to anyone else.

There is no organization or communication within the kitchen. Staff did not know what I ordered and asked multiple times.

We ordered a quesadilla, fries supreme, and tacos. They were not sure what options we chose when ordered and asked again. For the quesadilla, we were given chicken even though we ordered beef and not given the difference in price.

The fries and quesadilla came out relatively quick. However the three tacos came out almost 30 min later. Fries were soggy and quesadilla was warm by the time the tacos came out. All while the employee making the tacos kept going back and forth in the kitchen. The next customers in line came 10 min after I ordered and they got their tacos served at the same time as mine. My tacos were a bit burnt.

Extremely disappointed, especially with the prices being relatively higher than surrounding restaurants. Not worth the time and money. Staff needs...
