Where to begin with this restaurant? In 2021 as a student I'd get lunch at least once a week here. I'm back in London for the holidays and my friends warned me to stay away when I suggested to come back and I wish I would have listened looking at these reviews now. There are a lot of red flags I notice, first being the way whoever manages their Google page handles customer complaints. It seems they can neither take accountability for anything or change their ways, as when I came by to order the lady was out front smoking a cigarette and immediately she goes back and starts preparing the food after I order without washing hands or putting on gloves.. I'm a smoker so I'm not gonna make a fuss but that's gross and I see I wasn't the first or third person to report that. Plus who needs gloves? It's not like it's food we're working with here. While making my order I notice her touching her face and her hair a lot, wiping her hands on her (filthy) clothes (seriously I understand working in a restaraunt but come on). As well as grabbing her phone off the counter while frying meat for my sandwich. Standing there hand on hip texting while paying no attention to the frying the steak. Not to mention the floor looked like it hadn't been swept since the last time I was here, there were towels on the floor covered in sauce in the kitchen area. You can see what I mean if you look at the photos with reviews, must be a common habit. I know this complaint will fall on deaf ears like the rest, I'd be surprised if it's even the actual owner responding to these reviews with how rude they are to everyone, but I hope I can stop people from wasting their money on this place. I'm really disappointed in how this restaurant has changed, I don't regret coming in the past as I remember being served with a smile and kindness before but now it's like she's counting down for you to leave, and after that I can say j wanted to leave just as badly. Just wasted $45. Haven't been in yrs. WILL NOT GO BACK unless Dino & Eugene come back! Service awful, cleanliness disgusting, the cook/only worker had dirty finger nails, did not wear a hair net! I asked for a catering menu (had a dinner party catered years ago when Dino & Eugene ran the place it was amazing) - whew, dodged a bullet that she couldn't find all but one ripped sticky page! Ordered pasta with Alfredo, water not drained enough, so watery that it spilled out the container all over my car (didn't notice at 1st because it was dark out) but the drips all up my stairs and floor with the container having leaked thru the bag got my attention, it was tasteless. The meatball sandwich- just as another customer reported - a hot mess, bun so soggy you couldn't pick it up, tried to just eat the meatballs - also tasteless, sauce has changed to and although I realize it's subjective, I didn't like it, was MUCH better before. The veal sandwich- took one bite (of just the veal again, the bun too soggy to even pick up) it was crunchy!! Completely over cooked and it was not fresh at all. I threw out all of it!! Since I moved to London in 2007 I cannot say I have come across a restaraunt with service as bad as this. I had been once previously in I believe 2021, It was under different management, a nice middle Eastern man and his wife were working. It was just okay then. But after seeing a doordash advertisement for this place with the saddest looking lasagna I've ever seen, I've been inspired to revisit and wow, things have changed for the worse. the interior is filthy, they do not work with gloves anymore, the one girl I watched put out a cigarette on the wall outside and not wash her hands afterwards when making an order. The same girl was very rude and short with me when asking questions about the menu items. Surprisingly there's no sign of mice or roaches in the restaurant, but to be fair I would not bother with eating this food if I were them either. But on a positive note.. If you like your lasagna the consistency of soup and you're free on Thursdays, this is the place to go! I really wish I could give a 5 star, a 5 star warning to anyone else daring to eat here.
