We used to order pretty regular from papa john's at Wharncliffe both personally and for large group meetings, however, recently had a terrible delivery experience that significantly hampers the reliability of the location.
We placed an order for delivery to our apartment building, after waiting approximately one hour for a 30 minute order we checked online and saw that the pizza was noted as delivered. When we called the location we were told that because of contactless delivery that the pizza had been left at our door. After confirming the pizza was not there, which was in doubt given the fact that we did not receive a buzz up (buzzer, phone number and unit number were listed) we found out that the pizza had been "left somewhere". Further digging revealed that the somewhere was outside the apartment building on a ledge (not inside the foyer or in the building).
It's rather crazy to think that it would be felt acceptable to leave food during these times or any time, outside an apartment building and consider that delivered. Especially with no call or notification it had been left. We did eventually wander down out of curiosity and found that it was left near the ledge of the townhouses outside the apartment, and that the owners never received a knock either.
Unfortunately while we have had great pizza from here before and would have wanted to continue supporting, the logic behind leaving a pizza outside an apartment building without any notification is just too far of a leap for us to rely on ordering pizza...
Read morei simply want to eat papa johns every single day of my life. i could never have enough papa johns garlic sauce running through my arteries. if i could tell my kids one thing, and one thing only, i would tell them that the reason for their conception was merely based off the experience of eating the glistening, beautiful, vibrant cheesy pizza that you so call "papa johns pizza." a miracle indeed. i feel like, if i could, i could create a cure for every disease in the world simply with the recipe of your garlic sauce. as it may be just, garlic and butter, it is something truly immaculate, and that alone will solve all the issues in the world, one garlic cup at a time. thank you so much, and continue your beautiful creation each and every day, for i will be coming back until there is no more. until the world meets its demise, and papa johns is the last remaining superpower in the world, and to that time indeed, i will beg and beg for the life you give, the beauty you hold, and the power youve accumulated. i thank you, once more, and ask that you never, ever, forget the garlic sauce.
4/5. could use more garlic sauce.

Read moreThis used to be our go-to place whenever we were craving some pizza. The dough is excellent, the rest of the pizza is okay. The dipping sauce last two times was almost tinted water, it is noticeable how they watered it down, I'm guessing to cut expenses, or increase profits. However, my main concern to give this rating is that over the past few months the quality of the service was getting worse every weekend, to the point of having to repeat the order several time and in different way, rephrasing it to try to make the people working there understand what you are ordering. On top of that, many times they have questioned me being a student or not just because of my age (mid 30s) and demanded to show not only my student ID (which I think is fair) but also additional ID cards (in case someone is wondering, my student ID picture was taken just earlier this year, so I look pretty much the same). They have done this not only to me but also to my partner, and I think that we don't deserve this kind of treatment when we just want to get a decent pizza to chill out on a weekend night. Maybe we'll come back some day, but not any time soon if these things are not...
