Terrible service. Made reservations for 6 a few days before coming. I was complete ignored when I got there. I’m in a wheelchair and it was like I was invisible. So I went to the counter, where I was further ignored. Not one person asked me if I had an order, or a reservation. The person at the register was on the phone and made every effort to ignore my presence. Not even a smile or nod to acknowledge me, or getting someone else to help.
I gave up and sat at what I assumed was our table. 10mins after our group was there we still didn’t have menus. We failed to get the attention of anyone of the 20 employees standing around talking, in groups, causally and laughing, behind the counter. We had resorted to using our phones to look at the online menu before someone finally stopped talking, acknowledged we were there and brought us menus. We order drinks immediately and waited 15 mins later to get 6 basic drinks. Your staff couldn’t get a cup of hot water correct. First it came ice water, then boiling water in a plastic glass that when held burned out member’s hands.
Having your staff painstakingly put the order in an iPad was slow and aggravating. She kept making mistakes and having a hard time correcting it, taking 3 times to get a salad order correct. A few of us ordered salads and specified we wanted them as our meal; our salads came out 10-15 mins before the pizza. My salad was missing the chicken and all 3 of the salads had disgusting rotting spring mix on the bottom. I ignored the first bad bite, as it happens, but after eating a bite of complete slime, I almost threw up. I couldn’t finish more than a few bites of a $15 salad. The other two picked out large pieces of, not wilted, but rotten, slimy salad mix. When the waitress noticed I didn’t eat my meal, I told her and show her half the salad was rotten and I nearly gagged. We saw we were still charged full price after leaving.
We had a member with a gluten allergy who mentioned it before ordering. She decided to add a side to her meal asked if it too was gluten free, your staff member then asked “Do you need all your meal gluten free? Or just the side?” Are you kidding me? You need to train your staff about allergies. This happened back to back.
The experience was horrible. Being ignored. Waiting forever. Ordering difficulty. Orders wrong. Meals rotten. We sat down around 7:15 and having only order one round of drinks, 3 salads, two pizzas and kettle chips, we asked for our bill immediately, and it was 10:20 when we paid. We were there 3 hrs and maybe spent 25 mins eating. There were only two other tables for the first hour and a half of our meal. There was a ton of staff, but they just stood in the kitchen talking. Not ONCE did someone come ask if we needed anything. We would’ve loved to order more drinks but we didn’t have another hour.
Would recommend this place to only my enemies. If I had one good thing to say, you pizza was okay and I like the pink lemonade...
Read morePizza Projekt is my favourite pizza restaurant, where I can have a good quality vegan pizza. The sundried tomatoes are the best I've ever had on a pizza. There is, however, one ingredient that I'm not too fond of: a utility blade. My partner took me out for dinner on my birthday and we took leftovers home. A couple of days later, my partner noticed something in the tip of her slice. She removed a piece of a utility blade! She contacted the restaurant by phone, and was met with disbelief. The representative said "that's impossible; it couldn't have been from us. I'm going to buy a lottery ticket, because that's one in a million." Whether a piece of sharp metal came directly from Pizza Projekt or one of their suppliers, a piece of utility blade ended up in a pizza that we were eating. What if she bit into the blade while in the restaurant? Her mouth bleeding while others were eating in the restaurant. Finding a blade in a piece of pizza is bad enough, but the reaction of the restaurant manager is very disappointing. He really wanted out of the conversation and offered a replacement pizza (specific to size and toppings). "Sorry you almost ate a razor blade; we'll get you a medium pizza with three toppings; no more than that." I then contacted the restaurant twice, but no response. I gave them a chance to do more. People are telling us to sue, but we're not those kind of people. I simply asked for a refund for the entire meal, but they are not willing to do anything or even respond. Super disappointing, Pizza Projekt. Edit: It is completely possible to eat half of a pizza dining in, and taking home the half with a blade in it. And then eating it a couple days later. How is that an impossibility? Also, it's not slander if it's true. Also, there was no threat of suing the restaurant. I literally said it's something I WOULDN'T do. Here are facts: a blade was in our pizza when it was served to us on November 20th. The manager is calling my girlfriend a liar. I am not threatening to sue. It's not slander (because all this actually happened). I am being called a liar. I attempted to contact the restaurant via instagram and via their website, both before leaving this review. I have proof of this. The manager of this restaurant is delusional; why would I lie about any of this when it's my favourite pizza...
Read moreWe had a birthday party for my son on November 10 at the Spare Room. We knew we would be serving pizza so we reached out to the Pizza Projekt which is connected to the venue.
EXPERIENCE: I have ordered a lot of catering over the years for various parties and functions and I must say that dealing with the GM of Pizza Projekt, Luca, was one of the most professional, but also one of the most personable, interactions I have had. He was quick to respond to my inquiry and went out of his way to make sure we had our order at the desired time. He checked in with me before the party and then personally delivered all the pizzas right to the party. He kindly made sure we had everything we needed before he left. This man is clearly passionate about his business and that’s the kind of person you want to order your food from!
FOOD: If you want authentic pizza, this is it. I personally find most pizza places are too dough-heavy (likely to make up for the lack of ingredients/flavour) but the pizzas here are nice and thin, very much like the ones I’ve had in Italy. Even the cheese squeaks when you bite into it, that’s how you know it’s fresh. We ordered 6 family sized pizzas, more than enough to feed our party of approx 45 people. Leftovers are still just as good, 2 days out. My son never eats left over pizza and he’s been asking for it in his lunchbox every day.
We will definitely be going back to dine at Pizza Projekt to try their other menu items. Thank you Luca for helping to make our son’s birthday party run so smoothly and for the...
