I have gone here over a dozen times since they open a Popeye’s location for the east end. Decent, but it is falling over time when I come visit this location. Washrooms are never open as it is also filthy unless you use the Starbucks washroom just near them. They raised the prices, but it is still showing their old price that is not updated on the screen. Butterfly shrimp popcorn for the platter size says $11.29 (before Ontario 13% tax), but the cashier system reads it is over $12.00. The platter portion is so small and not so filling. It says over 2,600 calories, but it feels under that 2,600. I only got a few pieces of shrimp and the the couple sides are also less while my brother’s Cajun fries/chips is a lot bigger while my onion rings is so less for a regular size. But I have gone here before with fewer customers there. Their chicken tenders were not fully cooked at all sometimes. I have given this Popeyes a few chances of decent service, but I paid almost $15.00 for less than what it is. The platter does not feel like a bigger portion and a feast for one. It is also not filling when I paid extra for it and should get more. I should have gone to Mary Brown’s across the street or somewhere else for food for better value. The only best Popeye’s is the one at the north location by Adelaide Street and Fanshawe Park Road near HomeDepot and not far from Masonville Mall just down the road. Give this Popeyes many chances. Platter is less portion and I paid a bit more for something filling that is not mean it’s standard as staffs did not know their tasks. Staffs needs to be more trained while on duty. Food must be fully cooked especially mainly the chicken sandwiches, tenders and fried chicken. Washrooms needs to be use. It is sometimes smokey inside. For now, I am not going to this Popeye’s location unless I go to the one near Masonville as it has better service there. If you want a platter portion, but somehow give you less what you are paying for just for an extra side. I would not go to this spot and don’t complained if the reviews don’t warned you. If you want better chicken in London, Ontario. Go to Mary Brown’s, BTRMLK, Costco or Jack Astor’s. If I want seafood, I would go to Archie’s or Fionn MacCool’s restaurant. Not to put you down, but really. I paid this much for something that is not worth the price. This platter combo for shrimp is worth not worth almost $15.00. Sometimes, I have bad experience with this Popeyes. It feels money down the drain for poor service. I might as well do groceries and cook food from home for more portion and save...
Read moreVery very hit and miss... the first time we (my wife and 5 year old daughter and I) ate here the food was great and the staff were wonderful we were served by one of the managers or the franchise owner and he was quite nice, while we waited on our order he gave my daughter a free dessert. Since then however we've had nothing but terrible service. This popeyes constantly is changing their hours of service so the website for this location is totally unreliable the food always tastes like it's been sitting there for quite some time even though you end up waiting 10 to 15 minutes for "fresh" food. I've been to this location a few times the first time fantastic the other times were so bad that I now drive 20 minutes across town to another location if we decide we want popeyes for dinner.
I now go to the location on Fanshawe park road near Adelaide in the home depot parking lot. Here we've always had terrific friendly service.
If you live in the east end and have a craving for popeyes food it's worth the extra 15 - 20 minute drive to go to the Fanshawe location. You're really taking your chances going to the clarke road location.
Apparently this is common after ordering at the Fanshawe location (we were served by a manager) I was chatting with a manager and explained some of the ordeals we went through at the clarke location the manager apologized on behalf of popeyes gave my daughter one of the kid meal toys for free (we didn't order a kids meal) and gave us part of our order for free. The manager said that this wasn't the first time they had heard about the terrible service from the clarke location in fact since the clarke location changed ownership to whoever owns it now that many customers choose the Fanshawe location over the clarke...
Read moreI am a regular at this location because I live in the area and work late nights. I always give them the benefit of the doubt but I had to write this review so that the management is aware of what’s happening. Actually management won’t do anything. It’s the franchise owners that need to make changes.
Lights are turned off at night inside the dining space. I know restaurant is closed inside but it gives it that image that it’s closed if you miss the part it’s 24 hours.
The staff is friendly. But I think they need more training. Like sometimes you order nuggets through drive thru and get to the window to pay they tell you it will be 8-10 minutes for fresh ones. You should inform the customer while they are placing the order Incase they want something else that you have ready. Also this concept of driving back to the drive thru to pick up your order is unheard of. Any other restaurants with drive thru late night if order will take a few minutes the staff has to bring it out to the customer where they are parked.
The biscuits are always hard or over cooked (well done). The chicken strips, nuggets and spicy chicken sandwich is hit or miss. Sometimes not cooked over fried and mainly batter less chicken. They need to cook the chicken properly all the time not just hit or miss that’s unfair to paying customers. Fries sometimes literally 10 fries with a combo. What happen to appropriate portion sizes. It’s 11$-12$ for a combo and we’re getting 10 Cajun fries? Lol
I don’t want anything for free I just want them to follow standard operating procedures (SOP’s). What they are required to do by head office and how they should always have fresh fries and chicken available.
I still go there...
