Halal Shawarma Joint: London Ontario. Had an awesome experience. Food: 10/10 Quality: 10/10 Custoner Service/ Experience: 10/10 Bonus Points for their in-house freshly made Saj wraps. We drove from Cambridge to London and the drive was worth it. My brother and I ordered a couple items. Zaatar Fries, Traditional Shawarma (that was smoked/chared) that enhances all the flavors, Shawarma Burrito (definitely something different and amazing, I was so done. It was filling). Finally, we also ordered shawarma tacos that looked something different on their menu, and I sure wasn’t disappointed at all. All the items that we ordered were fresh and tasty. The staff was polite and very helpful when it came to suggestions, as it was our first time trying Shelby’s. The guy from the headquarters took out the time and gave us some amazing facts and their brand values & brand focus. The downtown location was the original Shelby’s. The interiors are well tot off and have a street style feeling. I also loved how they had managed to keep self kiosk counters for when it becomes crazy busy to help their staff members. I loved their product packaging and the best part was all the wraps we had weren’t messy at all. Like no kidding. Overall I am definitely going to come back.

My Shawarma Credentials: 10 years living in Ottawa - the Land of Shawarma. Middle East descent. After being hounded by my kids to visit this place and being fond of their social media myself, we made the trek from the GTA to the main location and we left deflated. This food is disgusting and sauced to death. The 'spicy' version of everything has an insane amount of sweetness to it and it is just gross. You can't even taste the meat or any seasoning it may have had. Your body revolts with the amount of sauce and sweetness the sandwich had. We tried 4 sandwiches, 2 mixed and 2 chicken. All tasted the like same soupy sweet mess with no way to tell that the mixed sandwiches had a different type of meat in there. We also ordered the mixed meat Poutine and same gross sweetness even though we asked for it spicy. Fans of Eastern Canada Gyros with the sweet garlic sauce would probably like these shawarmas but quite frankly this amount of sauce is enough to make you puke. How ANYONE could WANT to add ketchup to this level of sauce and sweet is just crazy. Adding Ketchup to a TRUE shawarma is certainly a tragedy but adding it to this is just pure confusion. This place would not last more than a month in Ottawa. Once they made their money on all the 'first visits' from their YouTube/TAK-TAK fan base, there would be no repeat visits and they would be out of business. The land of real shawarma would vet them out in no time. Don't buy into the hype and it's not worth driving to London. FYI Tahini's is no better - perhaps a bit better than Shelby's but equally overhyped. True Shawarma is hard to find in GTA.. There are places downtown for sure but once you have experienced Ottawa (or Montreal) with properly seasoned meat, real Lebanese Garlic Toum Sauce and their garlic potatoes, you'll wonder what has gone wrong with the GTA. 1-Star. +1 star for the fresh bread. That is a nice touch that more places should do but it is truly wasted on what they put in it after. THE WORST PART IS that the sandwiches are not SEARED the way they show in their videos. Why would you show this and then not do it for customers? This is very misleading .... but I don't think that treatment would help the sandwich. Best in the west? I think not.

Came here from Vaughan after it was hyped so hard on social media. Unfortunately for me, this was a case of them hyping things they don’t deliver. “Fresh Froiezz” they were not - they pulled fries from a metal cambro (heat drawer), and seconds later they had a fresh batch come up and then they heat drawered those - guys common don’t use up old product on customers like this. There is no reason to heat drawer fries - they take 3 min to cook. “I love za bicklez” Me too. Except I barely had one of each topping. Things were barely there. By looking at it, you can’t even identify what toppings I had. “Don’t forget za bebsi” I wish I had gotten bebsi, because the Shelby’s branded hibiscus drink was hideous. Who taste tested this? It’s sharp like cough syrup with more sugar than coke (40g for 300ml!). And a few other things shown on tiktok that don’t happen in real life (shawarma not cut from spit it’s also from a heat drawer + wrap not burned on the shawarma burner before entering the press, etc). Overall, it was OK… it’s just for the level of hype they have on social media you would expect them to have more quality control. These guys have a massive brand built on the back of an epic social media character. It was just a huge let-down to have this in person.

Once a week at least, my son and I, or both of us eat at Shelby’s. This past Sunday they had a special event where the first 50 people get a free Boutin ( Egyptian Poutine) and 50% of whatever we ordered. The atmosphere was electric with “Shwarma Man” loudly welcoming everyone and admonishing anyone who made the bad decision to ask for ketchup for their food. We have found the food to be very flavourful and a good quantity for the money you pay. The ingredients are fresh and the service always very good. Occasionally the service is slower but that can be attributed to the crowds of people that come here for lunch. We have eaten in and taken out from several Shelby’s locations and find consistency across the board. We have eaten bowls, wraps, salads and rice dishes and loved the flavours. Only one of the Shelby’s that we have been in has seating for more than 20. Most have small tables with chairs or stool for 10 or less, but most of the time we grab and go anyway, so it is all good. Try Shelby’s. You won’t be disappointed.

I am a sucker for advertising. I had no choice but to stop at The World's Largest Steakhouse in Amarillo after seeing their billboard for over 100 miles. I had no choice but to stop at Wall Drug in South Dakota after the same. And so after seeing Tiktoks and Reels for Shelby's, a detour to get a kebab was not going to be missed. Still busy during the lunch rush, there were only two people working this afternoon. One older gent trying hard to take orders and call out orders. And a younger dude working the kitchen and trying to keep up. I chose a beef shawarma wrap and it only took five or so minutes. Loaded with beef, fresh fries, pickles, spicy garlic and more. And then wrapped tight before being grilled to perfection. Oh so delicious, it's a good thing there isn't a Shelby's in Charlotte (yet!) or I would be eating them every day. The restaurant is clean and the food is amazing. A bigger parking lot would be a plus.

This is one of many visits to Shelby’s. First time in London. Easy to choose menu with great images to make it easier to understand what you get. Rather than lettuce they need to have parsley for a more authentic middle eastern taste however it’s still good. Food is nicely prepared in front of you and they have great packaging. It’s very hands off as you order with a tablet and the only interaction with staff is when they call your number and you pick up your food. I can’t really assess service as within the limited interaction it was minimal and nothing special although they were polite and friendly. Atmosphere is nice. Bigger and better parking options compared to the Windsor location We ordered chicken shawarma wraps falafels salad, pita and hummus along with soft drinks. Overall it’s good and clean.
