South St. Burger is my go to burger joint. I’ve been going here on and off since 2018. Never have I ever had a bad experience. The True North is their most popular burger, but they have four other Signature Burgers. They also give you the freedom to create your own burger with your choice of protein and toppings. Their “shakes are hand scooped and made from premium ice cream,” as stated on their website. My routinely order is two burgers and a milkshake. This is exactly what I went with today. The two I chose were a True North and Mushroom and Double Swiss, paired with a chocolate shake. The True North makes use of maple syrup, aged cheddar cheese, bacon, onions, and a secret sauce. The Mushroom and Double Swiss incorporates sautéed mushrooms, tomato, Swiss cheese, garlic mayo, and lettuce. My shake went down easy. South St. is as healthy as fast food can be: they put only the freshest ingredients into their burgers. Everything, including the burgers and shakes and fries, tastes better than I thought possible.

This location is consistently a let down compared to the location on Commissioners road. Visiting here is always a convenience reason and not because I enjoy it. This North location in London’s quality has been deteriorating and today I had my final visit. A long dark hair was found in my not hot burger. When I ordered today the ordering had changed from last time (2 weeks ago). I needed to order all my toppings while ordering my burger instead of watching them make it like usual. I was disappointed as now I need to tell them what I like instead of look at the array of toppings and choose from what looked fresh. I stopped ordering buns a while back because they are always stale. Today with hair imbedded as one of my toppings I am instantly disgusted to not give it another chance. This location needs to evaluate their health standards and I will make sure to call the city regarding an assessment.

The burger patty was juicy, cooked to perfection, and had a good texture. However, the patty was a bit salty for my taste, which made it difficult to fully enjoy the burger. The bun was fresh and soft, which added to the overall taste of the burger. The fries, unfortunately, were not good at all. They were undercooked and lacked flavor, which was disappointing. The fries did not complement the burger, and I ended up not finishing them. The meal cost $19 with coke, which was quite costly for a burger and fries, especially considering the quality of the fries. The cost of the meal did not seem to justify the overall dining experience. Despite the issues with the fries and the high cost of the meal, the service was decent, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant. The staff was attentive and friendly, which added to the overall dining experience.

*UPDATE: I forwarded this review to the email left below. In which they replied offering to make it up to me with some complementary meals to make up for our experience. I show the coupon she reads it which read; free combo includes our signature burger, regular fries, and a pop. Which i ordered then ordered my son a chicken burger and some how it came to $40, she insisted she already removed the free combo and that this is the price. I asked how? I get one free combo she said yeah it's taken off, she then calls her manager on the phone to get some help which is fine. She then tells me ok it's off I suggested let's just start over ignore combo #2 we're going to do that separately. She then only takes the fries and drink off which we tell her is wrong of course. She calls her manager again showes him the coupon. She then re rings it in again but now I still have to pay for the fries. I said this is wrong. My partner then asks if the other gentleman that is working to help her we also notice our original complaint of food safety is no better than the last along with touching his phone screen while on the grill. So we have the manager come in and try to apologize and we told him the reason we have these coupons is because of you. Needless to say we gave them another chance which was a complete hassle which made me not even want to use these free meals. It's terrible to see no changes have been made and that trying to redeem some coupons would be such a head ache.

Again, we will not be back to this location as clearly the owner and store manager do not care about cleanliness or their customers. **

---If it could give this establishment 0 stars i would.

For what seemed to be a manager, she was dressed nicely hair up, but no hair net or gloves.

Now working over a grill I get the no gloves but if you are touching raw meat like bacon and beef Patty's I believe the sanitary thing to do is to wash your hands after touching bacon or a beef patty. I watched this woman put the bacon on the grill then grab tongs to clean the grill and to flip the meat, then went to the deep fryers and rearranged all of the the baskets in order to go in the fryer. Came back to the grill grabbed a beef Patty's slapped them on the grill.

After that she switched positions with a gentleman who also didnt wash his hands before going to tend the grill, he was handling cash, because I did pay with cash, jumped right onto the grill smh..... she then went to the cash area cashed a couple of people out still no hands were washed at this point.

She then went to the dressing station which thankfully she did put gloves on but she then used the back of her hand to push he rhair out of her face... Honestly this experience was disgusting to watch and normally i wouldn't pay this much attention but right from the beginning watching her slap the bacon on the grill and touching the tongs right after i couldnt help but to keep watching because all l could think about was the amount of cross contamination happening right before my eyes!!

Now I am not the one to publicly make a scene even after spending $41 and waiting 25 minutes for my food. I will never be back to this location and I love south street burger.

Do better. Be cleaner. Wash your hands. Stop the cross...

I've been coming to this location for years and have loved it every single time. I've given it a 5 star review in the past because I couldn't say enough good about it and have recommended it to many of my friends and family. The staff were all so friendly, even the fellow grilling the burgers smiling and waving goodbye every time. It was just like coming home or among friends to get my take out order.

However, I don't know if there's been a radical change in management or a change in ownership, but it is a totally different place now.

Over the last couple of months every time I've been in it has not been good. At all. All the familiar faces are no longer there--all new staff. And the new staff are not friendly one iota. The food has taken quite a tumble too. What was once exceptional burgers are now just ho-hum.

The last two times I was in has made me never want to come back. The one time I ordered 2 burgers with the exact same toppings. The girl was too lazy to walk a few steps to bring the proper amount of onions and mushrooms for each burger and instead spilt 1 amount between the 2 burgers. The other time the girl who took my order and built my burger barely said a word, had no smile near her, and just stood talking in another language to the guy grilling the burger. She stood resting her elbow on the ledge and leaning her face against her hand--and rubbing her earlobe between her fingers....with her gloves on....only to come back to handle my food. In this covid/post-covid era, this is especially totally unacceptable! Both times the server and the one grilling the burgers vacated and went in the back room for ages (with their gloves on) leaving me wondering if my burgers were getting too well done.

The burgers are no longer juicy. The bun was burned. The burgers are not as big as they once were (although they still say 5oz on the menu). The toppings are not always fresh like they once were.

I don't know what has happened but it's a complete shame. What was once my favourite place to eat is now a place I will not come to again. It doesn't take much to make it a good experience and put out a good product. This location was once a resounding 5 stars, now it has...

This is my first and most likely last time coming here. It is not very child friendly. The staff are not too knowledgable of their products. When I asked a question, the cashier laughed at the question, telling me through a giggling grin that it goes agents policies to substitute one fountain drink for anything else. I hate how their family combo comes with only four of everthing. It is a if a single mom isn't expected to take her children out. As if it is only acceptable for a family of two adults and two children are able to order that combo deal. And that combo deal really isn't a deal at all. It was so expensive. I spent almost $50 for a small family of three. When we did finally get our food, it was missing items. Didn't taste any different from any other burger place of equal value. And wasn't as amazing as I thought the food should have been for the very high price I paid. Also, is it normal for beef burger to a light shading of pink inside of the patty? All four of the burgers had a small pink tinge...
