I don’t usually do google reviews but this situation was particularly weird. I went in around 7:45 pm today April 19th 2024 to order a family pak, when I was greated the girl told me she’d had to check if we had white meat to fulfill my order. Shorty after another girl came out with her to told me they were out of white meat and just couldn’t do my order. I told her I didn’t mind waiting and she said no sorry we’re out for the night I just can’t make your order. I said ok and left and asked my husband to call and make an order at the other location by Costco. He made the order and when I was leaving sent me the email where it showed he accidentally ordered at the Fanshawe location the one I was just at. He tried calling to cancel but the call didn’t go through so went back to cancel in person so food wasn’t wasted just in case they packed it with all dark meat. When I went in the young girl was surprised and I told her we accidentally made the order here and we wanted to cancel it since I was going to go to the other location to purchase. She went to the back and came back with my order, and confirmed she did in fact have whitemeat and said “ ahaha I guess we had it just for you”

Read more0/5 stars. Walked out after an hour and a half with no food, while other people came, ate and left all around us. My first dine-in experience at a Swiss Chalet ironically turned out to be my worst restaurant experiences, ever. And I've been to many many restaurants the world over in my 4 decades on earth. This is SS we're talking about too, so nothing complicated right? Our order consisted of 2 Quarter chicken meals.. I understand things get busy and everything. Totally fine. Restaurants get busy. But literally everyone in that same restaurant got their food with no delay at all. Large groups, various orders. We ordered the most basic items: chicken dinners. And yet, despite several requests we never got our food?? It was always, "it will be coming soon", or "the chickens were cooking", but we never ever saw food.
This whole thing is absolutely baffling. There is no reason for what seemed like blatant mistreatment at the hands of the staff there. Like, why did you refuse to give us food? We never got an answer. My partner and I are minorities, and I don't want to entertain the thought that there was some sort of deliberate discrimination in play. The Bad:
The only good about this place was the food. The service was extremely horrible. First it took over 10 minutes just for someone to take our pop order to the point we had already decided on our order. The server then slammed down our pops causing them to spill. We had chicken wings as an app and therefore used our napkins and was never once offered another one or even a wet nap considering one of the entrees was ribs. No one checked on us even once through the entire meal and when we said it was two separate bills the server still tried to put the whole amount on the debit machine.
Last time we tried this location the service was sooo slow it took almost an hour to get our food. Poor service seems to be the norm whenever we try to give this location another chance.
The Good:
However, after this post someone from the restaurant reached out to me about my experience. They really seemed to care about my experience and offered to try and make it right with another visit.
My sister and I took her up on her offer and the experience couldn't have been better. We were served by a gentleman named Lester. He was attentive, quick and checked on us throughout the meal. This is the type of service I expect and was pleased they were able to deliver it. We're willing to give them another chance...
