I was in the drive through today and there were 3 cars in front of me and about 5 vehicles behind me. The second car in front ordered then pulled up a bit then stopped, their was no one in front of the white car so I beeped for the white car to stop texting and move forward more people need to order. Well, I guess the guy in the orange vehicle thought I was peeping at him so after he ordered he pulled up a bit then stopped, the next car in front of the orange one was the white car but they were at the window getting their order. This guy and the girl in his passenger seat thought they were so cool going to stop the line getting their orders at Starbucks on Huron Line. I kept beeping my horn so the orange car would move there was quite a line up waiting. Finally a girl from Starbucks comes out and asks the guy in the orange vehicle to move up, not sure what was said but the Starbucks girl looked at me in horror and went inside. I noticed when the orange car finally moved to the window they were handed free drinks. I pulled up and the manager said he wouldn’t serve me I had said horrible things to the guy in the orange car. I said I didn’t say anything to him just peeped so he would move up. Since when do people not ask about the other side of the story,I have pictures of the 3 car length space the orange vehicle left and their plate number. The orange vehicle lied and held up many customers just before Christmas. The lady behind me in the black car knew what was going on and the black truck behind her but did Starbucks Staff ask them what happened-NO. ...
Read moreI visited this Starbucks location on December 31st around 6 PM with my friends. I don't live in the area, but I wanted to take my friends out for a nice experience. When my friend started ordering, the girl taking the order seemed really annoyed. She didn’t smile or make eye contact, and once the order was done, she just told us where to collect our coffee without any warmth. Initially, I thought she might be having a bad day and didn’t mention anything.
We spent some time there finishing our drinks. While waiting, I noticed that she greeted other customers with a smile, creating that welcoming Starbucks vibe we all know. This area has a large student population from the University of Windsor, and many residents are brown people like myself. I felt really hurt and singled out by her different treatment towards us. It killed the whole vibe for us and made us feel like we weren’t welcome or didn’t belong.
Feeling bothered by this, I decided to confront her before leaving. When I approached the counter again, she thought I was going to order and once more responded without a greeting or smile, just a curt “What do you want?” I asked her politely why she seemed annoyed when we placed our order earlier. She immediately smiled and denied any such behavior. She wasn’t wearing a name badge but had a tattoo on her neck and green colour on hair. It's really sad to be treated this way because of our background. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so that no one else has to feel unwelcome...
Read moreWish I could leave a 0 star review. We called a day ahead of time to see if they accommodate a larger crowd (15 of us). They said they could and they majority of us ordered our drinks ahead of time to make it easy on the baristas.
We got our drinks and went outside and realized we needed a few more chairs. We asked if we could take a few from inside- otherwise we would all come in as only a few spots were taken inside and they said yes. After we got the chairs outside and sat down a barista from inside came out to ask us how long we planned on being there. One of us asked why and the barista said that it’s because they are were worried that if more guest came there wouldn’t be enough seats. We let them know that there were many empty seats still inside. And the people that were inside were in there BEFORE we even arrived. I really wonder if they asked those guests when they would leave.
We were a group of 15 moms who all ordered drinks and were paying customers. Shame on you and your establishment for discriminating against us( we were the only visible minorities there so that’s the only conclusion that we could come to). Will NEVER go to this...
