Subway food is decent, but over time it went down hill and its quality. Now when you order food with your debit or credit machine. The machine asked for a tip; which is optional to tip or not. First off, how come many fast food franchises wants a tip now? Subway back then did not asked for any tips or a $1.00 extra? How come Mary Brown’s beside does not asked for any tips? This is not a dine-in restaurant that provide this kind of service as it takes 3 minutes or less to make your sandwiches. The tuna is not even real tuna that is wild caught from the Pacific Ocean, and their bread is not made with real flour and dough hence not the healthiest bread compare to sourdough as most bread now is ultra processed. It is not our jobs as customers to pay tips to cover your wages as that is on the employers’ responsibility. Maybe I go to a real Italian local sandwich shop or go to Mary Brown’s as they don’t asked for tips. Subway went downhill, and their chicken is probably coming from a farm where they are trained inside the barn with limited access to the outdoors and fed with grains not eating real food. If the chickens are not fed with their real food this means Subway is not truly getting your old food. Not tipping just to eat mediocre ultra processed food that is worst than eating a bag of dog food from Pet Smart. Subway-Eat Unfresh Processed Food. There are some people who have jobs and do not get a tip of their work field hence it is not fair if they have to tip their hard earn money to them hence tipping these days is getting out of control. Who wants to tip Subway; if they are worth billions of dollars and thousands of locations across North America as they are the least expensive franchise to open. I will patronize Mary Brown’s and any Canadian businesses next time. Tipping is getting out of hand while is this is not America. Canada only requires tips of certain services and satisfaction. I am writing this as now billion dollar fast food franchises are asking for tips now. It is a North American thing...

Read moreCons Slow service no matter what time of day it is Employees put a lot less meat (example: 6 slices of ham on a foot long sub compared to the regular 8 slices) on the subs ever since Jan 1 with minimum wage raise Cost of sandwiches are about $1 more than any other location I've been to in the city (Just think about that, they put less meat on the sandwich and are charging you more money per sub) Two small pet peeves when I go there is when there are 3 or 4 separate people and the sandwich maker does all separate orders at the same time, I understand they don't want to make and ring in 4 separate orders while washing their hands in between each one, but the person at the front of the line had a toasted sub and I felt bad watching it get cold when he's working on the other 3 subs. The second pet peeve is when the sandwich maker asks for the entire sub order right at the start, they doesn't listen to you and then asks again what cheese and toppings on the sub.
Pros Staff is friendly, so that's a plus I guess
I've never written a review on anything, but all this really upset me. Sad to see management make all these changes to keep on par with...
