Tata's House Of Pizza & Pasta — Restaurant in Ontario

Ok so I gave this a 3 star rating based on the following: the guy making the pizza was/is a very hard worker. He was slammed even on a Wednesday. Great hussle and very friendly. You wouldn’t know how stressed he probably was. The flavour was good. Sauce nice but that’s where the positives end for my experience. I’ve never paid $45 for an XL 4 topping pizza anywhere… so when I picked it and paid for it I said to myself “damn.. this better be as good as the reviews and the price tag”. I was sadly disappointed. It was doughy, soggy and too overloaded with toppings that when all combined just made it too blah. Nothing stood out except how underwhelming it was. I struggled to get through 2 slices… with a knife and fork and I never eat Za with a knife and fork!

Normally I would have great things to say about Tatas. I go at lunch 2/3 times a week for lunch in the summer, my family orders from them exclusively. Whenever we provide a staff lunch that is their preferred choice. Today we called in, placed an order for delivery to the mall across the parking lot. We ordered 1 pep and bacon, one cheese and one veggie. After delivery we opened up the boxes to find 2 veggie, one cheese. Simple mistake I thought, called and let them know one of the pies was incorrect. I was told that is what I ordered, and that he confirmed it back to me. This is incorrect, the correct order was repeated back to me, but not what we received. I said we really need the correct pizza, and the response was “then you should have ordered one” and was hung up on.

It was a very surprising interaction from staff I usually find quite inviting. It’s unfortunate to say you have lost the repeat business of myself, the company I work for, and the entire staff and their families. I will share...

I own my own pizzeria in the GTA and after living in Kingston for 22 years, the GtA for another 20 years , and trying pizza in France, Chicago and all over the GTA -Tatas is still my all-time favourite Pizza. I know the tricks of the trade and I can honestly tell that Tatas does NOT skip on quality. Everything is top-notch. They just nail everything. The sauce is unique- not what you get everywhere else, the crust is always crunch on the outside and soft on the inside, the presentation- pizza is always made with care and pride. This place is consistent eveytime! The staff is always warm and courteous.
