My friend and I arrived at the restaurant approximately just after 8 o'clock. We asked for a booth since I have back problems and it's more comfortable to sit there. The hostess was starring at us without trying to help with anything. The other gentleman that was bringing food to the tables refused to clean the booth because he stated that it would take too long. We asked if we can use the bigger booths but they stayed that if a large group arrived it wouldn't be available for them. Therefore, we were even willing to move if a large group arrived (although I doubt that being so late a large group would have came but either way, we were trying to work with them). Another gentleman came out and stated that, and I quote, "if we don't like it, we can leave and go somewhere else". By this time another booth cleared so we asked if we could use that one instead (possibly thinking that maybe it's easier to clean up than the other one, hence we were still trying to collaborate to make it work. The gentleman stated that he would clean the table but it would take some time. At this point my friend and I were so frustrated with the unprofessional conduct, the staff being disrespectful, rude, disgusting behaviour, unethical procedures and unorthodox situation that we decided to disengage the situation and still try to make it across town to eat at Oishi Sushi where we usually dine. But I wanted to try something different that night, but I never expected this vulgar and inappropriate behaviour. I called the next day to speak with a manager about the incident. Coincidentally, one of the same people that was working the night before answered the phone. After arguing back and fourth for a while (since I could not understand why he could not get in touch with a supervisor, shift manager, manager, or general manager to discuss the matter; he admitted at the end that they just wanted to go home and that's why this incident took place. I left my name and phone number for the manager to call me back but I never received a call. I called back after approximately one week and after speaking in the background in a foreign language they hung up the phone. I called back again and they answered the phone after it had rang approximately 10 times or more. The gentleman stated that he doesn't know the manager, he has no way to contact him. He told me and I quote "Leave a Google Review and they'll decide if they'll contact you." First and last time I go to Tenko after this experience. For now I will be going to the usual places: Taka, Oishi Sushi and the Mandarin. I hope anyone who reads this Review finds it Utilitarian; thus henceforth no one else will have to endure the experience that my friend and I had...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love the renovations since I had last been to Tenko. It no longer feels crowded, as the tables are nicely spaced, and the room itself is more open, creating a modern and relaxed ambiance. I also appreciate the iPad ordering system for the all-you-can-eat option. This allows us to peruse the menu without being hounded by a server, submit when we are ready, review the order, and click on individual items to see their descriptions (am I the only one who forgets the names of the rolls I like?!). The ingredients always seem fresh at Tenko. The rice is not stale, and the cooked fish is always hot. I particularly enjoyed the different Dragon Rolls and all the Hand Rolls. The all you can eat price point was the same as similar sushi restaurants in the area.
My only complaint would be the service. Our server was polite, however, we had to request water, wasabi, and sweet mayo, which I feel should be offered when seated, as is standard practice at most restaurants. We also had to flag down the server to refill water and wasabi. I feel they should be checking in briefly while bringing each item ordered. The food arrived at a great pace. It did not come too quickly, but there was not a huge lull in each dish being brought out. We did not feel rushed and enjoyed time after supper just chatting and hanging out. The restaurant is a solid 4 (not above and beyond expectations, simply within reason), and we will be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is your typical AYCE sushi restaurant. Not the best but not the worst.
Came here for lunch on our way to Windsor on a Saturday of labour day long weekend. The location is convenient, just near the highway exit on 401. Easily accessible in case you're hungry, you can get here quick. When we got here, we got seated right away. It wasn't busy at all.
For the food, expect your typical AYCE sushi. The seafood to rice ratio is what you would expect. Rice is a booming business while seafood is scarce. But seriously, the Salmon is really thin along with the other seafood. I gave 4 stars because they had Salmon Rose/Flower in the menu. I am a big Salmon fan.
For the service, they actually exceeded my expectation. They are actually quick, didn't have to wait long for the food. This is another reason why I gave 4 stars. Disclaimer though... We came when it's not busy, so service is based on this fact.
Overall, this place isn't too bad. Would definitely come back here for lunch the next time I visit Windsor and if I'm...
