We dined in at Taka as a family of four several times and get the all you can eat menu. It is busier at dinner time than lunch time, it would be wise to get a reservation for dinner on the weekend. Careful not to come late for lunch like after 2pm because they will warn you about the dinner time and literally stop any orders by 2:45. I personally cannot tell how their dinner menu differs from their lunch menu, I think it is just the higher price and maybe more items. Building and Atmosphere: The building is the old Montana restaurant so you don’t get any Japanese atmosphere. I noticed the weeds growing high out of the stoned landscape, so they need to do a better job with the maintenance upkeep of the outside landscape. I frankly miss Montana. The food: they basically have a menu on the iPad and you can order as many times and as many items as you want when you do the all you can eat. Few items like alcoholic drinks are extra of course. You can get the sushi and stir fries in many varieties. Their portions are very tiny but you can try just about anything on the menu. There is even pizza and fries there, but in that case do your wallet a favour and pick that up from Costco across the street. They do the sushi well and the variety is descent. I would stay away from the stir-fries, they are surprisingly better taste at the mall’s food court. They include the dessert, again a good variety with mini portions. If you don’t eat the food and want to take it home you will be charged extra for it. I guess they do a great job in minimizing food waste. The service: Multiple servers drop off food items as they come and others pick up the empty dishes. They are tiny portions and you would end up with a lot of dishes quickly, but we often can’t tell if we got what we ordered or if something was missed or mixed. It’s all good. They are a bit slow on busy days but at least they deliver food as it comes and don’t have to wait for the full order to come at once. That keeps the food fresh. Just a typical service, it doesn’t stand out; they keep the tables clean. The staff are very efficient and clean. Overall value, the jury is out, my family like the sushi which is why we come back, I am not convinced we are getting value for the money and lacks any authentic Asian atmosphere. I think it is all about the sushi that keep us...
Read moreMy daughter is non-verbal, in a wheelchair and is tube fed. She is physically unable to eat and it took multiple times to explain this as they wanted to charge me for her. At the beginning of my meal my soup spilled by accident. The waitress was at the table and witnessed it happen but just walked away. We asked for help and someone brought us a like of napkins and left us to clean it on our own. After we cleaned it ourself we asked if someone could at least wipe the table with a damp cloth and we were left with a pump bottle of hand sanitizer and more napkins. How do they clean the tables in between meals? Do they even wipe them down? They sat us at a table that had plenty of room for the majority of the time but towards the end of our meal they decided to put a large party (who were complaining because they made reservations but a table wasn't set for them when they arrived) right beside us and boxed my daughter in. The poor lady sitting by her felt terrible complaining that she couldn't move because of the wheelchair. We were there as a small family birthday party and we called in advance asking if we could bring a cake as a surprise and were told yes on the phone. We brought it and candles. They were taken by the staff who didn't look pleased we had it when we arrived and when we asked for it because we were ready, it was brought back to us still in the box. Candles brought a few minutes later and with no lighter. They couldn't even cut the cake for us. If we knew this we wouldn't have brought it and ended up bringing home untouched with us anyways. Then, when we left we noticed something was on my girlfriend's chair which we didn't see when she sat down. It transferred to her clothes and ruined her top and pants. They did offer her $25 for this. Leaving the restaurant with the wheelchair was a pain as well. We were 10 feet from the door but because of the large party beside us the aisle was blocked and we had to navigate around the very tight aisles full of people abd go around the entire restaurant and through the bar just to get to the door. We've been there many times in the past and loved it but this time left a very bad impression on us and we will likely...
Read moreLook no further for all you can east sushi meal that is just a few minutes from the border with Detroit, Michigan, if you want a quick and delicious AYCE. One of the many benefits of visiting this secret gem is the incredibly freakishly quick service. The staff goes above and above to make you feel welcome as soon as you enter and is really nice.
All the order is done off the tablet which is superb with detailed description and imagery of each item, this makes the experience the best because you know what you are ordering!
The menu is incredibly enormous and offers a vast variety of sushi, sashimi, drinks, and desserts. You're bound to find something you like here, whether you're in the mood for something light and energizing or something a little more meaty. Additionally, considering the variety, the pricing is surprisingly reasonable.
Although the restaurant is frequently busy, it is unquestionably underrated. Even when it's busiest, you won't feel packed or confined because of the excellent seating. However, the bathrooms simply need to be modernized. Despite the excellent cuisine and service, the restrooms might use a little updating.
Overall, this restaurant is a fantastic option for anyone seeking quick, delectable meals in a cozy and pleasant setting. The collection is vast, the prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly. Although the restrooms could use some updating, it's a small complaint in what would otherwise be a fantastic dining experience. So be sure to check it out if you're nearby and searching for a...
