Today, I stopped at this location to order a BLT combo meal at the 7.59 advertised on the giant board behind the counter. When I went to pay, the price was 8.59. I asked the employee who was assisting me, and was advised that it was due to tax. I then pressed, advising that the payment screen (right in front of me) shows the price as 8.59.
I asked the employee to adjust the price to match the advertised price, and was told that she did not have the ability to do this. I then requested a manager, who also advised that she was unable to offer the product at the advertised price, nor would she adjust the price to match the price on the board.
Full disclosure, I have noticed that other sandwich combos were also improperly priced at other locations over the past month. the signage is all set by corporate head office, as is the pricing. The fact that the store would not honour the advertised pricing after being made aware of the discrepancy, means that Tim Hortons is in breach of the Consumer Act.

I am disappointed.
Edit: the location was on Colborne St....
