Really disappointed in this place tonight. In the past I've bought tickets for new years and they were open til midnight and we had lots of fun. Got a drink and dessert and games for the WHOLE night. There was great service and such a great atmosphere. Tonight we only got our prosecco when they did the kids countdown. No dessert til just before 8 when I asked why we hadn't received it yet only to be told that they were closing. No where on my ticket did it say this. It just said a kids countdown at 7. I asked the guy that worked there if he could take away our dishes as they were piling up, he said he would come back but didn't for a long time. I absolutely feel that the service and atmosphere and menu was a lot better with the old managers. Not sure I'll be going back unless to buy a book. Most definitely not ever going there for new years again.
Hi, thank you for your reply. We did receive our dessert after I went up to ask why we hadn't received it yet, I was told he was closing and to pick something out. I chose the lemon cake but to be honest wish I had chosen the cheesecake as the lemon one was hard and nearly tasteless. I'm not sure if it was gluten free or what but could only taste lemon after heating it in microwave. Over all I spent 40 dollars for a new years celebration and ended up playing 2 games, gave the prosecco to my boyfriend as I didn't like it and not a great dessert and left at 8 due to closing. Was just very...
Read moreThis place is SO much fun! Whether you have a party of people or just another to play a duo game this is the place to go! They have TONS of games to play and you'll always find something fun to play! For $5 that's an absolute bargain!
I am not much of a reader but I love looking through the bookstore after a few games and they have a great selection of books to choose from and they're priced pretty fair (some good deals too!)
The service is great here too, everyone working always has a smile, they will always help you and it makes the environment very nice, nobody should ever feel uncomfortable here! This is definitely a place for literally anyone!
My only issue I have is the food/drinks are kind of overpriced. Some things as basic as a grilled cheese sandwich or drink are a little more than they should be. It all tastes good tho so it isn't that big of a problem but I don't like to spend much on that here so I go elsewhere before or after for that.
BUT that is my opinion and honestly other than that there isn't much else to say! If you want a cheap and fun way to spend the day with friends, a friend or yourself you MUST check Turns and Tales out! You will NOT be...
Read moreOur first time there. The lighting is harsh, the paint color needs update, turning up the heat would be a nice touch. Light lunch for 2. Both had chicken wrap and hot black tea. They charge a different price for the size of tea. In other words they charge for the extra hot water that goes into a larger cup and their small tea is a tiny cup at best. The chicken wraps were heavy on the lettuce, sprinkled with tiny pieces of chicken plus the piece of small bone I received. If you r up for a table game be mindful that it cost 5 dollars per person NOT per table to play a board game on top of whatever you order from the counter. The bookstore, although not a friendly bookseller, was a very neat little, as in small store where you can also buy board games which may be cheaper if you could B.Y.O. game. Not sure of the sanitation policy involved regarding after use of games but hope they have one. All in all not a great experience, on the bright side we noted the Italian resturant a door or 2 down. WHAT A...
