Satellite Restaurant — Restaurant in Ontario

I had such a great response from the owner I have adjusted my review to reflect that and confident that the service situation has been dealt with. The food at the Elephants Nest (their bar side restaurant) was awesome, so since it comes out of the same kitchen I'm confident in reviewing the food as well, which was excellent. Thank you again to the owner for a prompt response and for caring so much. It was very much appreciated. We were excited to try this restaurant for the first time tonight (Oct 9 approx 5pm). We had checked out the menu and it looked great. When we arrived we were directed to find a seat. We sat at a booth, by the door and waited. And waited. And waited. No one came with menus, no one came to let us know someone would be right with us. We were the only table that we could see up front. I did notice servers chatting and milling around. Another couple came in. They sat themselves, got menus and their drink order taken. Then another table came in. Same thing, menus and a drinks. We had sat there for about 12-15 minutes. So we got up and left. We actually went next door to the elephants nest and were excited to see the same menu...so obviously same owners. We sat, the bar tender came over immediately with menus, took our drink order, and returned promptly to take our food order. The bar tender will be pleased with her tip, because we take tipping seriously and appreciate good service.

If it has been busy, and staff was running around doing their best and we had to wait I would have been fine with that, understanding and patient. But it wasn't busy and you could hear them chatting about non work related things.

So, just the servers will be the ones who miss out and not the owners, but hopefully the owners will read this have a discussion with their staff.

Honestly not very good. Went there during Retrofest, and we didn't have a waitress for over 20 mins. Had to go get her. I understand it's busy, but when they are serving everyone around us and new ppl coming in and we are just sitting there . Not impressed. So we ordered good and I asked for a vegetarian qusadilla (veg. So very limited to what a vegetarian and vegan can eat), the waitress said they don't make them.. yet there on the menu. I was too hungry to argue so got fries. They were just okay, nothing overally wowing. The bf got a burger and dad got a BLT.. howevre with no sides cuz they charge extra for that.... so you get this giant plate.. with a sandwich and/or a burger on it and nothing else.. when we were done, we just got up and had to track the waitress down to get the bill, as no one else working there would help even locate her.

Overall the resteraunt is meh. It's like a dinner style. It is dirty (lots of dead flies on the window ledge, dirty glasses, etc) so definitely check your cutlery and glassware.. and maybe bring your own water..

Ok I would like to start off, I don’t like that you have to be 10 and under because first of all not all kids above 10 are going to eat a adult sized portion, second if I want to pay money for something I should be able to buy it, if I was ordering through skip the dishes I would have been able to get a kids meal, and third I wanted the dessert!!! (Lol that last thing is kinda a joke) This place tho is actually amazing the server (who I think is also the manager) was spectacular, I’m actually currently eating my left overs, and I must say thanks for the plastic bag otherwise is would have been all over my purse lol. Service was great foods great atmosphere is great, literally no complaints at all just the personal one about the kids meal. I will definitely be coming back here again,(low key may order online so I can try the kids meal😅) and I want to try the potato skins lol, I honestly wanna try everything. Highly recons have a great day all! To add on it was like between like 12 ish and 24 ish I think for all the actual meals, so...
