Visited them a couple of times. Their tarts and cinnamon rolls are really good. However, in my last visit, the person tending the counter used a napkin to pick up my cinnamon rolls and put them in a brown bag. I had no idea she used a napkin so I just drove home and 20 minutes later, found the napkin had fused itself to one of my cinnamon rolls. Devastating. I tried my best to peel off the napkin without it tearing but it was too far gone. The thinnest napkin pieces were stuck all over the icing and it was so hard to see if it was icing or napkin that I had to peel off most of the icing. Yes. I ate it, even at its worst. I have no shame... It was really good still... Unfortunately, I missed a piece of napkin so it's now stuck in my mouth and I have been spitting into the sink while writing this review. For what it's worth, I enjoyed their cinnamon rolls so much that I ate the napkin that came with it... But that's just me. It's not too sweet and it's not too cinnamon-y. Oh. And the people seem really nice too. Just make sure your cinnamon rolls don't come...

Wow wow wow! I’m from Toronto, was out this way for a cottage trip. My mom mentioned wanting to stop at this bakery as she used to live in Oro in her teens. What an amazing spot, the staff and owner (?) were so kind, patient and happy. The whole street smelled amazing and I adored seeing the staff in the back giggling and goofing around. Clearly amazing management here. We got cinnamon rolls (Chelsea buns) and my only regret is not getting more. I think I said ā€œwow these are SO GOODā€ about 4x while inhaling my roll. The butter tarts were also superb. I’m glad my mom was able to experience a bit of nostalgia, and I was able to try a new, amazing spot. We might be almost 2 hours away but we’re definitely planning another trip out there soon :)

Thank you for the memories...

First time at Wilkies and had high expectations as people rave about it. Went in with my work partner and ordered the panzarotti he ordered one as well as he said they were really good. We both got a Pure Leaf Tea as well. First off they gave us our orders backwards and I did not notice til a quarter way in. The dough was flat and old tasting had a fermented taste. The cheese was good (positive comment). Second we were drinking our Ice Tea and my work partner noticed his expired in January of this year (its March 2023 writing this). Mine on other hand was expired on Dec 19, 2022!! This is unacceptable…so disappointed as I like to support local but not at the risk...

Wilkie's has a reputation for one of the best butter tarts in Ontario. I am searching for the best butter tart in the province (see my other reviews for my previous butter tart adventures), so I visited to check it out. What stands out about the butter tart at Wilkie's is the soft and delicate crust. It almost melts in your mouth. It wasn't really my preference, but for someone who prefers that sort of texture, this is as good as it gets. Overall, Wilkie's has a unique and tasty iteration of the butter tart, and is worth visiting while in Orillia. The bakery is also stocked with all sorts of other tasty treats.
