We've ordered quite a few time from this Mary Browns in south Oshawa. We always ask for all thighs without any issues. Tonight I call and ask for a 13 piece all thighs and they tell me that's there a 9 dollar upcharge for that. I asked since when and they told me since July 2021, NOT TRUE at all, they have never charged me that and if they had I'd have refused, that's like an extra order of chicken. Also, you'll have to call at least three times to get through if you're lucky. Often they just don't answer. Sept 27 2023 Went in tonight at 8:45 know that they close at 9 and asked about whatever they might have left, knowing they always shut the fryers down early, and she said "anything but chicken". What's the point of being a chicken restaurant and not selling chicken, let alone saying you're open until 9, when you really aren't? What a terrible location.
Update: I'm upping my 1 star to a 5 for great customer responsiveness. Mary Browns did reach out which is unusual for any franchise these days, and refreshing to say the least. They did explain that the manager had been away and maybe things weren't being handled quite right in his absence. They did apologize and make it up to us so I am changing my review in appreciation. They have my business back at this point.
Update yet again, May 10th 2024: Called this location and tried to place an order with the girl working at 8:25 tonight and yet again when my wife called to do a pick up and asked for all thighs she was told that it would be an extra $4.50 for a 4 piece combo almost doubling the price because we wanted an extra couple of thighs...what??? When we said we have ordered that way numerous times without an extra charge she told my wife " that's impossible" and just kept repeating the same thing over and over again. This location is horrible, completely inconsistent and mostly ignorant and rude, I strongly advise you swerve this location. We've had enough hassle there and there are way too many options as far as places to spend my money on fast food without this locations grief. These people need some customer service training big time, it's too bad they don't care as much as their head...
Read moreI've been to Marry Brown’s a few times before, but this recent visit under the new ownership was on a whole different level. Right from the moment I walked in, the vibe was warmer, the space looked cleaner, and the staff were genuinely welcoming.
The new owners are clearly doing something right—the service was top-notch. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and seemed genuinely happy to be there. It makes a big difference when you're treated like more than just another order number.
Now, the food… absolutely spectacular. The chicken was crispy, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The sides were fresh and flavorful, and everything came out hot and fast. You can tell there’s real pride going into every meal.
If you haven’t been to Marry Brown’s lately, give it another shot. The changes are obvious and impressive. I’ll definitely be coming back—and...
Read moreHad the itchin for the chicken but late night options are limited in the sleepy village of South Oshawa. Called Miss Mary Brown mere minutes before closing... much like Joe Carter in game 6 of 1993 World Series, the team hit it out of the park. Chicken cooked to perfection, hot and salty taters, wavy gravy... ice cold and refreshing canned beverage (he literally checked the temp of the can before giving it to me lmfao). As I turned to leave the store to race home so I could lay waste to this chicken feast of perfection, the quality gentleman ended our pleasant interaction with, and I quote "enjoy the cool night breeze". If that isnt going above and beyond I don't know what is. No tip option of the debit machine so I hope the owner reads this and at least buys you guys some kit kats from dollarama cuz everyone...
