Worst Fast Food Experience Ever!
Last night I placed an order for my family just before this place closed at 9:00 p.m. For the first time in years of ordering from here, I decided to treat myself and try their double steak sandwich—at $26 with tax. When I unwrapped it at home, I found six tiny pieces of beef, each about the size of a silver dollar. I couldn’t believe this was their idea of a double steak, but it was too late to call and ask since they were closed.
I went in the next day with the uneaten sandwich. The “manager” (who I suspect is actually the owner—because no real manager with any training in customer service would last a day behaving like this) told me that the regular steak has 3 pieces and the double has 6. He then opened the sandwich with no gloves on, picked up each piece of meat, and counted them—with his bare hands.
I told him I was willing to take the sandwich home and eat it now that I understood what I had paid for, but after he touched every piece, I no longer could. When I questioned him about it, he refused to give a refund and instead accused me of trying to pull some sort of prank. I asked, “If you already knew you weren’t going to refund me, why did you touch the food with your bare hands?” His answer: “You touched it too.”
Really?
I explained, “It’s my sandwich—I can do what I want with it. But you touched every single piece and made it inedible.” He then said, “It’s from last night. You’re not going to eat it anyway.” Again, that’s my decision—not his.
After blaming me, insulting me, and refusing to take any responsibility for his actions, he finally gave me a refund—and banned me from the store.
I went straight to Mr. A’s Quick Flame Restaurant afterwards—and guess what? Their burger was amazing. Each burger is 8 oz. of real beef, fresh, juicy, and delicious. So thank you, rude guy, for leading me straight to a better place to spend my money.
The worst part? As I was walking out, I heard him badmouthing me to another customer. Talk about unprofessional. No understanding of hygiene, no customer service skills, and riding on the reputation of a once-beloved business. The sad truth is—he didn’t build this place’s success, but he’s certainly on the path to...
Read moreDec 18th 5:22pm(REAL REVIEW)! First time in a long time that ive been treated with care buy a restaurant❤️🩵. Most of the time I get served with an attitude or someone who hates their job. The staff were so friendly and so nice. I feel like they went above and beyond for me. They understood my mushroom allergy, as well as it being my first time there they were super helpful with the menu items.
However, the food....I got my fries well done, they came out super crispy and hot(and no they weren't drenched in oil). The burger is massive! Slightly bigger than my hand! I was not expecting that after the reviews I read. I ordered a twin banquet burger with quite a few toppings. I cannot believe it...cheaper than mcd's and way better quality.(PICTURE ATTACHED). On top of that I am now in love with their dill garlic aioli, lol 😂!! I'm quite unaware of why people are saying bad things about this place. Lol, hell I've never been here before and first experience was one of my best let me tell you. If I'm feeling a burger and fries in the future this will probably be my new go to.
As for the environment, although the restaurant was not very busy, and could use a clean, I actually very much enjoyed the "retro vibe". License plates from all over the world. The theme seems to be Elvis Presley which is more than awesome. I haven't been to a place like this since I was a kid and ate a Wimpys Diner, except they didn't have Elvis. I'll...
Read moreI suddenly had a crave for burgers, so I decided to take a detour. This burger place has been proudly serving the Oshawa crowd since 1976. They have 2 types of burger you can pick- original or home burger. I was told by a loyal customer who frequently comes here- my boyfriend, that the original patty was frozen and the home burger were fresh grounded AA beef patty, so of course I have to pick the latter one. These were our orders and our thoughts...
Home Cheeseburger ($13.21) super juicy... if you didn't wrap your burger before you bite into it, your hands will be soaked in burger drips (don't say I didn't warn you) buns were toasted so it added a little crunch to your bite
Mushroom Swiss Burger ($14.69) Also uses fresh beef patty, each bite was super juicy that you just want to keep biting! Mushrooms and onions were both pan-fried, so it added a hint of smokey-ness flavour. Personally, I thought the garlic dill aioli could use a little more garlic or dill... I didn't remember there's aioli until I looked at the menu again
Fries and onions included in the combo. Perfect crunch and crisp thick cut fries! Big proportion for what you get and the onion rings were fluffy inside but still have a crunchy shell... almost like a French fry wrapped around a slice of onion
Definitely don't mind coming back to try their milkshake in the summer to go along with...
