Worst food service in my life... here is a long explanation why....first we walk in and there are 2 other groups of people waiting to be seated, complaining there is not one at the front desk at all... then a very angry hostess shows up, did not even say hi to anyone. Just asks the first group how many. They answered 2 and asked for a booth. They got no reply at all. She just walked away. Then come back and graded menus. The only word she sent was ok and walked off to the table. The group followed. The same thing happened to the second group. Then same with us. She dropped the menus on the table and walked away without a word.... very bad first impression. Very angry and unfriendly hostess.. it only gos down hill from here. I asked for a draft beer and was told their draft has not worked all day. Normally, it's not a big deal, but as we waited for our food. We saw 3 other people getting served draft beer... then after ordering our food. We waited forever for our food. ( me, my wife, and 4 small kids), so by the time the food comes, kids are very restless. When it finally shows up. Some other servers bring part of our meals and reach from one end of the table to the other. (We where at a table in the center of a room, easy to walk around the table to serve.) Second part of the meal shows up 5 mins later and parts of it our wrong and missing. The server was not friendly at all. But she did go get the order fixed. When she dropped off the correct order. She left the servicing tray on our table. Then, for the first time, she asked if we needed anything. ( Our first drinks had been empty for 30 mins at this point. ) I asked for water. She walked away before anyone else at the table had a chance to say anything. We started eating and all our food was cold. My wife's wrap she sent felt like it was in a fridge, a lot colder the room temperature... I had a stir fry and almost choked on bones. I was pulling bones not only out of the chicken but also mixed in with just rice. After we were all almost done eating, the servicer came back and asked if we needed anything. I asked again for a water (I never got the first one). Then she left again so fast no one else had a chance to answer. Then 5 mins later she came with my water. Dropped the straw on the floor. Did not say anything, placed the water, and walked away, but did come back quickly with a new one. Placed it on the table and walked away without saying anything.. after we were done eating, she came back, and we asked for take out containers. Then she started picking up plates with untouched food on Them and I had to say, no, we are taking that home.... that is why we asked for containers. When she came back with containers. They were not going to work for what we needed to pack up. So we asked for other ones (we go to our local Swiss chalet all the time. So we know what types they have and asked for exactly what we needed.) The server got pissed off at this point. She stommed off and when she came back she slamed them on the table. Then, I asked if we were going to be having our desert as the kids' meals come with them. I asked what the take-home options were, and she told me. I asked her to give us a min and I got a very dirty look. She just walked away. After talking with the kids, I flaged her down and told her what we wanted. She came back with them and the bill. We paid and got out of there as fast as we cud.
We were there for 1.5 hours, and it was not even supper busy No one there was friendly at all, no small talk and rude. The food was cold and not correct. We were never asked if we wanted our drinks filled. And when I asked, I had to ask 2 times just...
Read moreMy family and I went to this location to celebrate my birthday. We ordered coffee and got amazing coffee, but no spoon to stir the coffee with. We told the waitress she didn't bring a spoon which she responded to with "I know." So we asked for a spoon again... We had to ask three times for a spoon to stir our coffee and eventually used our forks so the coffee wouldn't get cold.
I ordered a roast sandwich which I got without the au jus sauce despite wanting said sauce. My meal came and the waitress was about to leave when I stopped her and asked "doesn't this come with au jus?" She said yes and went to get it. I don't feel I should have to ask for each part of my meal separately. This waitress didn't write anything down and she clearly had issues remembering despite the establishment being quite empty while we were there.
The food quality was amazing. The chef's did a phenomenal job and this is the only reason the star rating is to high. The quality of service was attrocious. If I were rating just the quality of food, they would have gotten 5 stars hands down. The service was worthy of maybe one star if that. The chef's deserve a raise as they went above and beyond. Everything was cooked perfectly. I even had them make parmissian fries (they're new) into a poutine for me which is apparently unheard of. They were really good and I'd totally recommend trying a parmissian fry poutine.
This location isn't bad. This was the first time I saw this waitress, so she could be new and just learning how to do things, but if that's the case the management may want to think carefully about training their staff members properly to avoid this type of occurance again. Next time we go, I may seriously consider getting it to go to avoid such attrocious service and I definitely will NOT go there again on a special occasion as the service was frustrating to...
Read moreThe food was good, little smaller portion that i hope. What i really wanted to share was my experience paying for the bill. I would recommend NOT to pay with your scene points. I'm actually glad that i was the one working on the POS machine instead of the waitress because she may have just said, she misread my points and i didn't know what my points i had before since i didn't know or remember swiss chalet was a scene partner (haven't used this card in ages). The machine came up with errors. I saw the points I had before the error and after the error and it totalled the subtraction of the amount that was supposed to be redeemed. At the end i had to pay the full price. I Explained the situation to the manager but as i expected, they suggest i call scene to deal with this instead of maybe checking what went wrong with the machine. Scene confirmed the transaction of my points were redeem at this location. So they added back the points to my account for the swiss chalet machine error. I did ask scene rep to maybe contact the manager or at least figure out this issue so it doesn't help to other people in the future, its an inconvenent. I don't know if they will do anything so i decided to just review this swiss chalet and hope it can help others to be careful at this location. I don't know how the points work but if i paid full price and swiss chalet took my redeemed points, they gained from it then right? they got themselves a big tip...
