These reviews have to be fake. When I got there it looked like they were preparing a catering order. 3 people working on that order and I was standing there for a good 10 mins before I was even acknowledged. Finally a lady asked what I wanted I said a chicken shawarma plate but didn’t see any potatoes or rice on the display. I asked her if they had any she said yes in the back… ok. She goes and comes back with my container with literally 2 teaspoons of rice in it. I didn’t say anything at that point cause I thought she would go back to add more… then she asked what I want on my salad I told her, she put 1 turnip and 1 pickle. At that point I said excuse me can I have more pickles and turnips and will you be adding more rice? She said no, I said that’s literally 2 spoon fulls. She went to the back and brought back a foil tray of rice and added a little more … she put a small spoon of hummus on my plate. Some man that was there noticed I was annoyed, he came to ask I said yes she’s adding such small portions. He said oh sorry, and he said something to her in their language. He added the chicken to my plate which again wasn’t all that much. Chicken was very dry, they were very stingy with the sauce as you can see in my pictures you can barely see sauce on my chicken. Moral of the story I will not be going back, I wanted to support a new small business in my neighborhood but this plate was NOT worth $19. I should have stuck to the usual shawarma restaurant I go to. Also, I would not cater from here or order for pick up, they took out frozen cut up chicken shawarma pieces and put them on the grill in the catering containers for that order.
Response to owner- I’m not sure you know how to read. I said it was a catering order that 3 staff were working on, I didn't say anyone was there before me “first.” If there was a lineup of people and I had to wait 10 mins that’s a different story, someone should be available for customers who walk into the restaurant at all times.
Secondly, how do you know if it was my intention to come support a new local business or not? If that wasn’t it then what was it? Did I just wake up and feel like throwing $19 down the drain?
Lastly, the chicken on the grill was not because the customers wanted it crispy, it was completely frozen chicken that you guys brought from the back freezer and warmed up to put in their orders.
And what a big deal that I took harrisa and garlic sauce on the side, that’s the least I could have taken as the plate looked so dry. Did you want me to pay extra for those? After I paid $19 for a total waste of food. Must be a joke.
Improve your business that’s the advice I can give you. Would hate for you to lose another customer solely from your rude response. It’s evident that you don’t care about your customers...
Read moreIf you are thinking about coming here, just do it! We have been here three times in the past two weeks and have already recommended this place to our friends and family.
We grabbed this place upon seeing a picture of their garlic potatoes. Didn't order it on the first visit but also didn't need to because their portions are more than adequate. I'm usually a red meat person and my partner adores chicken. However, Shawarma Spot made us question our choices. I got the Donair and chicken mix over rice and my partner got the chicken over fries.
The pieces of chicken are large, not typical shreds of chicken and the portion of meat was very generous. It's white meat and super juicy. The pieces of Donair were charred to perfection and the portion was also very generous. Their meats are marinated for 18 hours!
After our first meal, my partner was hooked on the Donair and I continued to order the mix. We had to add the garlic potatoes though!
Our most recent trip to this establishment was with family. We ordered the meal that served 4-5 and received two party trays worth of food. One tray included the rice, potatoes, fries, and topped with Donair and the other tray included salad with the garlic sauce and hummus. Had to get a small side of chicken so the family could try it. We recommend getting the harissa, really flavourful and has a kick to it. We were only able to finish half the food but had to save room for dessert.
They offer roll ice cream by the other wall and the texture was on point. We love that the toppings are customizable and also their minis were large enough to share.

The plate overall has very little flavour, despite appearances. The ingredients are all there, but the flavour is missing. Shawarma chicken should be packed with flavourful spices and be a highlight of the namesake dish with every bite. This chicken is bland as bland can be and lacked on portion as well. Bland rice, bland salad.
They offered me some garlic oil topping for the potatoes and heaped it on. It was flavourless also and of an unappetizing consistency, like eating whipped margarine.
The price is high in my opinion for a meal you have to stand up for 10-15minutes minutes to order, then eat with plastic cutlery in a takeout box, even for dine-in.
The only enjoyable parts were the hummus, of which I would have liked more, and the crispy potatoes, which had a little flavour but great texture.
It's always disappointing to get this type of shawarma, but it is more common than the good stuff, which is great when it's good.
I will not be returning to this place. I do not...
