We’ve been loyal customers of various Nantha’s restaurants for many years, but our recent experience at the new Nantha’s Oshawa location was extremely disappointing and upsetting. We've lived in Oshawa for over 15 years and have been visiting this location since it operated as Garthy Takeout and Catering. Given our history, we were excited to support the new Nantha’s location in our area.
We called to place a pickup order for one large mutton kottu and one regular chicken kottu. However, in the middle of placing the order, the woman on the phone abruptly hung up on us without any clarification, question, or explanation.
Assuming it might have been a mistake or a technical issue, we called back right away. When we asked why the call was disconnected, the staff member denied hanging up and, instead of addressing our concern politely, responded with a dismissive and disrespectful tone. What was most surprising and disappointing was the complete lack of an apology or any effort to resolve the issue professionally.
This kind of behavior is unacceptable, especially from a business that depends on loyal customers and community support. We felt disrespected and unvalued. Customer service is just as important as the food, and in this case, the absence of basic courtesy and accountability left a lasting negative impression.
Unfortunately, despite many years of supporting other Nantha’s locations, this experience has changed our view. We will not be returning to the Oshawa location and can no longer recommend it to our friends or family.
Terrible customer service and unprofessional staff have cost them a longtime customer over an issue that could have easily...
Read moreIs this place in Oshawa a secret money-laundering front? Because the prices are criminally low! 😂
If you’re anywhere near Oshawa and craving some South Indian or Sri Lankan snacks, this takeout spot is an absolute gem. We’re talking delicious puffs, samosas, vadas, chicken rolls, and even mutton rolls — all for under $2! At this rate, your wallet stays fat while your stomach stays fuller.
The biryani? Enough for two people easy, and packed with flavour. The portion sizes are super generous, especially for the price — feels like they’re feeding you out of love, not a business model.
The staff are awesome — friendly and quick. The place is clean and well-kept. Parking is tight, so maybe don’t roll in with a convoy. And nope, there’s no dine-in — it’s strictly a takeout joint, so grab your goodies and go.
If you’re into bold spices, comfort food, and snack prices that make no financial sense (in a good way), this is THE place in Oshawa. Just don’t tell too many people, or we’ll all be paying $10 for a puff...
Read moreI went with Shy below. The difference in service between day time staff and night time staff, is well night and day, 2 different experiences. I will absolutely NOT be back in the EVENING. We went at 7pm. I rushed to order my food. Staff very unfriendly, questioned amount I was purchasing (their rice). And to top it all off, I'm missing my portion my meal as I was also ordering for other ppl.
I will definitely be back DURING THE DAY where I was treated with so much kindness being a new face in their restaurant. Thus the reason why I went back to night.
Highly recommend the food, haven't tried anything that I didn't like. Everything has been...
