Dolci Sapori — Restaurant in Ottawa

I have to add this here for anyone who could potentially come across this situation in the future. I truly hope that the store takes my recommendation into consideration. My partner and I went to the store as we heard rave reviews and had previously had a wonderful experience drinking their coffee and hot chocolate. Very nice people and a successful business. However, it is very important that the owner ensure to label the desserts that may have common restrictions (contains nuts, alcohol).

We decided to buy the pesche because it looked very stunning and delicious. 3-4 bites in, my throat started burning at which point I realized there was alcohol in it. I am currently pregnant and obviously am on a strict no alcohol diet. While I understand that desserts could be made with alcohol, it should be clearly indicated next the name label. Children could eat this dessert or anyone with religious restrictions, or even pregnant women. I am hoping that there's no effect on my baby from the few bites I ate, however, I really hope management takes this seriously and consider putting notes on the labels (contains nuts, alcohol).

ITALIANO AUTENTICO!!!!!

Something strange happens when you walk into this place. The air feels different, sound behaves differently, and there is a strange energy that I can't explain. It may take a few minutes before it dawns on you: you are no longer in Ottawa; you've somehow been transported instantaneously to Italy. Yes, within these walls, it's Italy. And once you taste the pastries, you will know it's not an hallucination. If you want an authentic cannoli, ordered straight from Italy via some inexplicable supernatural portal, then look no further. It's here!

The cannoli pastry is PERFEZIONE. It holds together and doesn't crumble or collapse when you bite into it. It's so delicious you could eat it without any filling, like a cookie, like a biscotto. But why would you once you've tasted the heavenly filling! Magnifico! Is it made with ricotta only? Or it's it mixed with mascarpone? Hard to tell, but whatever they do, it's exactly how it should be.

There is one problem: how could Google reviews only amount to 4.9 stars?? They only deserve 5.0 stars or ABOVE! This is a disgrace. It must be sabotage from the jealous competition in the area. But it doesn't matter. The proof is in...

I genuinely can’t say enough good things about this bakery. The food is absolutely incredible! I’ve gotten about 5 cakes from here for various birthdays throughout the year and every single time me and my friends are so impressed. Their cakes taste like they were made with care, never overly sweet and so complex in flavours. Highly recommend any of their cheesecakes, the mango mousse cake and the ricotta pear cake. Their cannolis are also one of the best I’ve tried in the city, I’m constantly craving them.
