The delivery man tried to scam me!

The food is good and I've ordered from this place a number of times but tonight the delivery man tried to get more money out of me. Everytime I order from this restaurant I do it through my Just Eat app. The app handles all of the payment. This works out so well because I just have to answer the door and they hand me the food - I even pay the tip through Just Eat.

Tonight, the delivery driver tried to tell me that I needed to pay the delivery fee and tip again, and that the delivery fee and tip I submitted through the app go to Just Eat and not to the restaurant. Of course, having looked at the itemized receipt through the Just Eat app, I knew that I already paid both of these fees.

When I refused to pay, the driver said that he was just telling me what his boss told him and that I could call the restaurant if I had an issue with it. So I stepped outside and called the restaurant, gave them my order number, and they confirmed that my order was paid in full. I put them on speaker phone and requested that they repeat that so the driver would hear.

Before the person on the phone could speak the driver immediately started lying and said he wasn't asking me for more money... even though he had the debit/credit machine all ready to go and was shoving it at me asking for money just 30 seconds before the phone call. It ended with me yelling at him on my front porch in the middle of winter. I told him great, if you suddenly don't want me to give you more money then give me my food and leave. With a dirty look he did just that.

The owner did call me to find out what happened. He didn't really apologize or do anything about it, but I appreciated the call. Honestly, I don't feel comfortable ordering from them again. Beware, folks. Don't fall for that trick. If you've paid already, you've...

I'm a bit disappointed. I was trying to shop local and thought I would try something new. I'm a pizza kind of girl.

Called in to ask for clarification on the dishes I ordered last night since I didn't realize chow mein is not Canadian chow mein with fried noodles but instead the exact same dish as chop Suey (which I also ordered). So I ended up with two of the same dishes. No problem.

I wasn't calling to complain. I was calling just so ask so for next time I know what to order. He seemed to be looking to argue instead of listening to what I was trying to ask.

Food was good. Portions seemed decent.

Would not have ordered from skip the dishes if I knew I would miss out on a free fried rice if I ordered off...

Seriously impressed. My wife always complains about the quality of chinese take out - but she said right away we would be ordering from here again. We got the beef with black bean sauce over fried noodles. Good amount of beef, very tender, and real vegetables that were cut at the restaurant...as opposed usual pile of onions and green peppers crammed in by most places. We also had the red curry chicken - not quite as good as my favourite thai restaurant in westboro but for takeout, it was very good. Open ended egg rolls also quite good, better than most places. As a guy who has lived in barrhaven a very long time, i can confidently say this is the best chinese place we've had since Stanley Lau...
