Third time visit update!!!!!

I've never done 3 reviews of a place BUT Tapri Chai's consistency in terms of service and food quality deserves a shout out!!!!

Their staff is extremely extremely polite and courteous. Their service is never a miss. So this is a heartfelt thanks to all the staff members there. I met Harsimran this time. His etiquettes, smile, patience were exemplary and complimented the food they serve. They resonate the fact that food served with a smile and love is the best!!!

We had the noodle burger, samosa chaat, kadak chai and weren't disappointed at all.

Let's be honest..we all know of a place that serves scrumptious food at launch and then the quality dwindles! But not Tapri Chai!

I revisited the location after 10 months, the same level of exceptional service. Welcomed with a prompt smile, amazing food!

I'm very skeptical when it comes to my chai. It's hard to find the perfect tea. We got the masala tea this time. I was ready to face disappointment and a small serving but I've never been so glad to be soooo wrong. The chai was fabulous 😍 an 11/10. Strongly recommend. Their samosa chat and veggie burger..yummy! I'm definitely going to go the third time..let's see if it will be a charm!

The food was great! It was served within the time estimate given and with a smile. The food was fresh and super delicious.

The place itself was very peaceful, well maintained and lively. We ordered dahi Puris and gobhi parantha with masala sodas. The maska pav was good too.

But what truly stood out was the Chai – it was a fragrant and comforting elixir that transported me to a different world. The Pasta Salad was fresh and invigorating, providing a nice contrast to the other dishes. For dessert, the Gulab Jamun was a sweet delight, and the Smose was a crispy indulgence.

Tapri Chai is hands-down one of the most authentic and delicious chai places you'll find in Ottawa. It's perfectly spiced, aromatic chai transports you back home. Their street food menu is another major win; everything from the chaats to haka noodles to masala soda is packed with the kind of flavour you'd expect from a desi go-to place. For taste alone, this place is a gem. The service is also amazing, very upbeat staff.

However, as someone who has been visiting for a while, I've noticed a couple of changes over the past year that are hard to ignore. The most significant is the pricing. The costs have steadily climbed, and it's starting to feel expensive for what it is—a casual chai and street food place. The value seems to be deminishing. Furthermore, its well-deserved popularity comes at a cost. The seating area is quite small and often feels cramped, and you should be prepared for some long wait times, especially during peak hours. I'll still come back when I'm craving that perfect cup of chai, but I now go in knowing it'll be a pricier visit and I might be waiting a while for a spot and food. It's a 5-star experience for flavour, but the logistics and cost are...
