If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would!
My friends and I were on our way to the farm for a day of horseback riding and decided to stop for a quick lunch at Burgers and Shakes. We had heard good things, but what we experienced went above and beyond anything we expected.
From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by how clean and inviting the place looked. The décor is simple but modern, with a cozy vibe that makes you want to sit down and stay a while. The staff greeted us with genuine smiles and friendly attitudes, and the owner — what an incredible gentleman. He welcomed us like we were regulars and made sure everything was perfect throughout our visit. His hospitality alone deserves a standing ovation.
Now let’s talk about the food. Wow. The burgers here are massive. These aren’t your standard fast-food patties — they’re thick, juicy, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection. You can taste the quality in every single bite. It’s clear they’re using top-tier meat, and the difference is undeniable. The toppings were crisp and fresh, from the lettuce and tomatoes to the onions and pickles — everything tasted like it had just been prepared.
The fries were golden, crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. And the onion rings? Crunchy, flavorful, and not greasy at all — probably the best I've had in years.
Then came the milkshakes… absolutely heavenly. Thick, creamy, and packed with flavor, they really do have the best shakes in town. Whether you're into chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, or something more adventurous, there's a shake here that will blow your mind. And for those who love ice cream — you're in luck! They’ve got a fantastic selection that’s just as high-quality as the rest of their menu.
It’s rare to find a place that checks every box — amazing food, friendly service, cleanliness, and a warm, welcoming vibe. Burgers and Shakes is a gem. Thank you for the unforgettable lunch and for setting the perfect tone for the rest of our day. I will absolutely be back, and I’ll be bringing more friends with...
Read moreSlowwwwww service. On my first visit we ordered a burger, fish buger, rings and a shake plus a small dish of ice cream (total costing a whopping $30). They don't tell you they only take cash or debit until you go to pay. When I asked where that policy is stated the cashier pointed to a small note stuck to the cash.
It took 8 minutes in line to order, waiting behind a pile of people who were only ordering ice cream. Only one cashier with zero sense of urgency.
Then another 15 minutes waiting in another line for the food to cook. The food prepper gets the (burnt - had to ask for another) bun ready with the fixings then it just sits there for a long time. What is the purpose of grilling a bun to heat it up if it is then going to sit on a counter for 10 minutes cooling off? They never gave me a choice if I wanted my bun toasted (I didn't).
The cooks don't use gloves and man handle everything including cheese curds. Gross. The fixings were nothing special. The burger bun is big. Without any "special sauce" and being lightly toasted on the grill then cooled it makes for one dry burger.
The burger meat itself was good as was the fish burger but both were quite expensive considering all the other negatives.
Overall disapointed and I won't ever return. This is definitely not the "Burgers and Shakes" that is famous in Texas. It would be a lot better, quicker, and much less expensive to just go to Harveys or McD's and order a...
Read moreThe quality just didn't seem to be there; the taste was mediocre at best, but I wouldn't say it's the most terrible burger I've ever had -- it was better than a Big Mac, if that means anything. $6 for the junior burger was quite pricey for what I got, and it wasn't filling enough. I'm guessing it's the same size as the Little Burger at Five Guys for $5. A couple of my friends warned me that it was pricey, and I agree with them now after having given it a try. Mushrooms would have cost extra ($0.75, if I remember correctly) so I didn't get them; Five Guys gives them at no extra charge. I'm not quite sure I like their ordering system either. After paying, I sat down to wait. After a few minutes, they called me to the counter. I thought my burgers were ready, but they weren't; they were asking what toppings and condiments I wanted. After putting them on, I sat down for another 1 to 2 minutes before getting called back. Why can't they ask for the toppings when taking the orders?? I didn't like the appearance of the jalapeno peppers because they were quite shriveled from being left out in the open all day long; they really should have them soaking in their juices. The workers were all very friendly, though, so that would probably be the only thing that would want me to go back. They really need to improve on their recipe for the patties first -- and adjust...
