We ordered: Tom Yum Pak Tom Kha Goong Gai Oup Pa-Nang Pad Thai Pak Sticky Thai rice
The Food: The soups were decent with a good amount of toppings. The Tom Kha has great coconut milk flavour; while I find that the Tom Yum's sour flavour was not very satisfying for me. I also found that the Tom Yum soup did not have as much lemongrass as I'd like (but this is personal preference).
The Gai Oup Pa-Nang was crispy breaded chicken in red curry sauce. It was very flavourful and the chicken was truly crispy, smothered in creamy coconut curry sauce. The level of spiciness was just right. We had this with the sticky rice. It was delicious. This dish was recommended by the waitress. I haven't had this dish at any other Thai restaurant and was very delighted to discover it.
-The Pad Thai Pak: I really enjoyed the pad thai. Although the description says "sweet sauce", the pad thai sauce contained a good balance of sweetness and sourness. The dish was saucy but not overwhelmingly oily. The Pad Thai was not spicy, however, which is different from most places I have tried. It was tasty and it was a flavour that I continued craving for after finishing it. One of my favourite pad thai in this city and I look forward to order from NANA again soon.
Overall, the restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere and very attentive service. The waitresses were nice and took their time interacting with the customers. They frequently checked to see if we were happy with our dishes and the tastes. The food portion was generous; although the prices are very similar to other Thai's restaurants, the size of every dish makes it very good values.
We are looking forward to return to or order take-out...
Read moreI went for lunch as my first experience in this newly opened Thai Restaurant. I ordered the chicken curry with rice to take home from the dinner menu. Their lunch menu wasn't available due to missing listed items. Paid $20. Although the sauce was very flavourful and quite delicious... I was very disappointed. I basically paid just to get a load of rice. There was hardly any chicken inside the tiny portion of curry. I felt ripped off. For that exact price, I could have gone across the street and got 2 steak shikobabs, 3 kebabs, fries, pita, hummus and grilled vegetables! Or gone further up the street to another Thai restaurant, ordered the same thing but would have had 3x more chicken in the curry, less rice, two spring rolls & a can of pop!
I didn't feel I got my money's worth. There's a lot of competition in the area and having dined in every restaurant on Preston Street... I know where to go and not to go for wise financial dinning experiences.
Unfortunately, this place has made my "don't go" list based on you won't get very much food for your...
Read morePrepare to be amazed! Charm Thai Cuisine came highly recommended and now I've been there I can see why. From the bright yellow decor (who wouldn't feel happy just walking in the door) to the cleanliness, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The food was outstanding, and the server recommend dishes and sides that I hadn't considered. An absolute treat for the taste buds. The the serving sizes were perfect - filling, yet not so much that food was left on the plate. Everyone was so friendly and warm. The service was excellent. I never once felt rushed or ignored, in fact I felt more like a welcome guest than simply a customer.
I want to try everything on this well-priced menu, so this is definitely a restaurant I'll be returning to a lot. I wish there were more stars to give in every category. You won't be disappointed....
