I LOVE this Equator Location !! The staff make all the difference for me.
As someone who has worked at multiple cafes in the past, this cafe has it all right.
Iâve been a pretty frequent customer - Iâm in every few days. As soon as I walk in and order I am greeted with a warm smile by the staff, usually girls. I think Iâve been served by a girl Bee and another girl Sarah most of the times Iâve been in. Both girls are so friendly and just make my day all the better.
I am boring usually - get an iced latte but anytime Iâve had questions on flavours or different food options for when I want something, the staff are great at answering my questions and always have great recommendations. Prices are fair for the quality you get.
Iâve always received my iced latte fast. I donât recall needing to wait a while to get my order like other cafes I have been to in the past. Everyone is always professional at this Equator location, friendly, and staff knows how to make a great iced latte. A lot of cafes donât and itâs taken me ages to finally find a spot that can get it right.
Depending on my work load Iâll either sit in and work or go home. If I sit in the cafe is always clean, comfortable. Can get busy but thatâs expected with a cafe - especially in a plaza attached to Chapters.
I used to go to the Kanata location but prefer this location attached to Chapters because of the friendly staff and quality. Always friendly staff and products are consistently good.
Not sure if anyone reads these from Equator but I want to especially give a shout out to Bee and Sarah (hope I got their...
Read moreFood, drinks, and vibe are great! However, there is one young lady who works there (wears a head covering, seems to be of middle eastern descent) that has had me scratching my head a couple of times.
The first time I had placed an order for a âmatcha tea latteâ. This confused her because according to her, matcha latte and matcha tea latte are two different things⊠it was news to her that those are synonymous terms as I had to educate her.
Another time I ordered a âmatcha latteâ this time (to not confuse her) and then asked what lactose free alternatives they have. She then told me that they donât have ANY lactose/dairy free options. I said I find that hard to believe, and then pressed her. She ended up saying âwe only have almond milk or oat milk at the momentâ. I then said âIâll have oat milk then, because thatâs lactose freeâ. She raised an eyebrow at me and said oat milk has lactose in it. I said no, it doesnât. She then had to ask her co-worker to verify and sure enough, I was correct.
It seems like the management of this location might need to train her a bit more.
Final note is that Iâve noticed she likes to have her friends visit her while working (not sure if itâs during her break, but they tend to stay a lot longer than half an hour, and honestly, are a bit loud).. is management paying her to work and help her co-workers,...
Read moreI was minding my own buisness studying for my exams which are a very difficult time. And without a doubt one of their emplyees decided she was going to have to kick me out if I didnt buy something. Even tho the store was literally empty and we were one of the only 3 people there. I objectively decided to buy something so I wasnt kicked out. And then the machine asked me to tip?? why would I be tipping if they didnt ensure any prompt service but instead threatened to kick me out if I didnt buy something. While we were studying a group of 4 also got kicked out because they didnt purchase any of the overpriced food items. I hope this policy changes in the near future. Worst of it all while we were trying to study she came over and started mopping under us instead of waiting to leave. And then when there were still 30minutes before closure she decided to be extremely loud with the vacuum.
The food was okay a bit starchy, wouldn't recommend The couch was nice so ill give the...
