l have to change my rating due to my recent experience.
I ordered two deluxe platters. One for Friday and the other for Saturday. The platter should contain 3 different subs, Hook & Ladder, Engineer and Italian. On Friday, our guests noticed that the subs labeled Italian was in fact Engineer. I opened all subs and noticed that we received only the Hook & Ladder and Engineer subs, no Italian. I called Saturday to informed the manager the mistake. He apologized and offered to give an extra free Italian sub for the inconveniences. I accepted and that was that. I wasn't angry at all. In fact, I didn't care much. Just wanted to make sure I received the correct subs for the second platter.
When my husband and I went to pick up the second platter. Immediately, the staff had a change of attitude when I gave them my name. The cashier put me through transaction and then ignored me. Did not provide me my receipt or instruct me where to go. Another staff came out with my platter but did not hand it over to us. We were a little confused. Shortly after, someone handed over our platter and told us to wait. I thought we were waiting for the Italian sub that the manager wanted to give to compensate the mix up. After waiting, the manager came out, gave us a LONG speech on how "it was highly unlikely and impossible" for the staff to make an error like that. I explained to him, again, that we in fact were given no Italian. Then, the manager in disbelief asked us "if you want, we will give you an extra sub" for the troubles. The manager insisted that it would take 2 mins. At this point, I didn't care for the free sub. We wasted enough time there and had other important errands that needed to be done. So, we left there with our mood completely ruined.
I had hoped the manager would just end the mishap with the conversation over the phone and not drag it on when we got there. Mistakes happen, we weren’t mad about it. Own up to it...
Read morePlenty of parking around here. You most likely won't even waste time to find a spot. Inside is very spacious.
I wasn't there long enough for decor information but they had the plexiglas shields in the front. There were signs where to step so you know you are far enough from other people to avoid covid.
If your ordering make sure you go to their website. It is very simple and gives you a time estimate to pick up your food. I have to say their interface was extremely user friendly and easy to use. The time for sub pick up was on a timely manner also. I did not have to wait when I got there with the pick up time they gave me. You can also pick extra toppings and order placing should take less than a few minutes if you have decided on your sub.
In terms of sub quality I really enjoyed the sub I got. It was savoury and fresh and packed with meat. For a large it is quite expensive for a sub place but honestly the portions were huge that I felt like it was a good deal not only because of the size but the quality.
The meat and toppings tasted fresh and heated up nicely to my likings. If your feeling a deli sandwich and you go here you won't be disappointed. I am extremely excited to try all their sandwiches now as I'm not normally in this area so this is my first time.
This is way better than subway hands down. I enjoy my Quiznos also but it is nice to add this place to my mix of lunch restaurants.
I will be posting more pictures and will give an update of my favourite sandwiches once I have tried them all.
I would highly recommend Firehouse Subs for anyone who is in the area. Took me around 10 seconds to pick up my food...
Read more3 star review for Barrhaven Firehouse Subs. This place — since it opened a few years ago, has been somewhat hit and miss across the range of expectations, —But for their Prices — which are nearly double most of the competitors — it needs to be 100% Hit.
Ordered 7 large subs today. The food arrived on a timely basis (about 30 mins) , which was good, considering past experiences — where it took up to 45-50 minutes. (Almost drove us out permanently…). So the timeliness seems to have improved.
But we always paid the higher prices for FireHouse because their subs were downright good, and tasty. That however, now seems on the decline…. Today’s Signature brisket and cheddar subs were downright dry and under sauces, and mostly flavorless. The (formerly good) buns were also flat and weak - like what people have to come to expect at a lesser place like Quiznos.
The Signature steak and provolone subs - for $20/each - were seriously dissapointing. They were essentially flavourless. No taste, even with toppings add-ons. The steak was minced into small bits and crumbled all over. Physically difficult to eat!
For prices ranging from $20-$23 per Sub, Firehouse needs to step up the game, bigly. Or else people will just go for essentially the same type of thing at Subway or Quiznos or Mr. sub, for about $13.
This 3 star review mostly gets marks for...
