Went to Lil Negril for lunch today, arriving right at opening time, noon. I had the jerk chicken with mango salsa, a ginger beer and the day's cheesecake special. The ginger beer was quite sweet and not so gingery as to taste hot. The jerk chicken was mildly hot, spice wise but came with a bowl of jerk sauce for dipping so you could add more jerk heat to the flavor. The mango also was basically just dry, cubed mango so nothing special. The temperature of the food could have been better. The chicken was warm, not hot and the plaintain was barely warm. And two small pieces of plantain seems skimpy for an $18 dish. The only thing that was actually hot was the rice and peas. The cheesecake though was quite tasty and well worth the low price. The restaurant was nicely but sparsely decorated but didn't really have that caribbean vibe I'd expect. There was one painting of a tropical scene I was quite struck by. I think I'd like to try this place in the evening before giving a final review. Being there right at opening and based on the barely warm temperature of the chicken and plantain I have to wonder if we're were getting rewarmed food not fresh cooked. Given there were only two tables occupied and the reasonably fast service, I doubt the food was left on the counter too long and cooled before we got it. On the other hand, it all seemed fresh and quite tasty so I don't want to turn anyone off coming here. I only gave 3 stars for the food because it was lukewarm, not for the quality or flavor.

Had a lovely experience with the food, service and atmosphere! We went on a monday so it was quiet but cozy. The lady serving us offered us fun stories about her time in Jamaica and was quick to bring our food. The food was so good that we plan to come back often. Ordered the shrimp wrapped appetizers, they were fresh and crunchy! The dipping sauce was a perfect mix of tangy, sweet and spicy. For our entrées we got the jerk chicken and the fried chicken. The jerk chicken was juicy and well season. The fried chicken was surprisingly light and flakey. Both had very flavorful sauces. The salads for both were fresh and delicious. We ordered a drink to share, called Dark and Stormy. It paired well with the spices of both meals. Sharp flavor and smooth. Lastly we got two slices of the Pineapple coconut cheese cake. It was so good we had to have one each. It was thick and creamy with diced pineapple inside. The berry compote was lovely. Overall a really wonderful experience and a place we will definitely we going back to.

If you're looking for a different place that is clean, friendly, and delicious you've come to the right place. Located in a small plaza this place is a hidden gem. The décor is neat and not over the top We came on a Wednesday during the Christmas/New Years holidays so it wasn't busy. Ordered the jerk chicken, jerk beef, and ribs. Nothing felt spicy. It was more like a sweet BBQ flavour. Here's the breakdown: Chicken -- moist and tasty Ribs -- fall off the bone Pork -- tasty, but a little dry The side order of rice was a little dry, and the lettuce wasn't fresh (-0.5 stars). Ordered the lunch size dishes, to be able to try several plates, but the portions were smaller than expected (-0.5 stars). Overall it was pretty good and I would definitely come back again.

My husband ordered take out here yesterday for 6 people for my mother in-laws birthday. She requested good West Indian food, so my husband thought this was would be a good place to order from because of the reviews.

My huband ordered 2 Jerk Chicken meals, 1 Curry Chicken meal, 1 Fish meal, 1 Curry Goat meal along with Oxtail meal.

They charged my husband about $100 or more for all of that, and that's excluding drinks we didn't get any. The food was absolute G-A-R-B-A-G-E!!!!!!

The Jerk Chicken was practically just bone, you might as well call it Jerk Bone. The was basically no meat on it, I've never seen Jerk Chicken like that from a restaurant before. I was literally SHOCKED!

The rice had no flavor at all, my father inlaw complained and said there was only 7 peas in his rice. He thought it was bland as well. Myself along with my inlaws are West Indian, we expected a lot more from this resturant considering it's West Indian food (Jamaican Food).

We also received very little Curry Chicken, the box was mostly rice. It was EXTREMELY dry and had no flavour. Also, my mother in-law was saying the Curry Goat did not taste like goat, she said the meat tasted different she couldn't quite pin point what it was (she's Jamaican, I'm pretty sure she knows what Goat tastes like).

My mother in-law and father in-law we also disappointed with the fish, they were expecting it to be a snapper but it was salmon, they said it was ok, but weren't really happy about that either.

I am going to contact the manager to see if he can do something because we felt like we threw our money in the garbage. If nothing is done to make it up to us, we will never eat from here again and I will tell others how bad this place is. From my experience the quality of the food is just garbage, how can you expect to feed people bones with Jerk Spice....that is...

First we won’t be ordering from there again and second what will we do with 6 sauces the next time we order we just want the one for each of our orders he kept on repeating the same thing so my aunt asked does that make senses why don’t you just bring are sauces and we had to pay for the sauce with our order so we should have gotten a refund he started to say you ordered it with Uber so u have to tell them but even if we tell them we still order the food from your restaurant your restaurant would have to give us the sauce and the money goes to you so he kept say the Same thing so we hanged...
