Luxe Bistro — Restaurant in Ottawa

I recently had the pleasure of hosting a corporate event at Luxe Bistro, and I must say it was an exquisite experience from start to finish. The combination of the private space, impeccable service, and delicious cuisine left a lasting impression on our organization.

From the moment we arrived, the ambiance of the private space was captivating. Luxe Bistro's attention to detail in decor and design created an inviting and sophisticated atmosphere, perfect for our corporate event. The private space allowed our team to engage in discussions without any external disturbances, fostering a conducive environment for both business and networking.

The service provided by Fred and Izzy was nothing short of exceptional. They were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that all our needs were met. From coordinating the seating arrangements to anticipating our preferences, Fred and Izzy demonstrated a level of professionalism that greatly contributed to the success of our event. Their efficiency and attention to detail added an extra layer of sophistication to the evening.

I would also like to extend my gratitude to Laila for her outstanding logistics support. She seamlessly managed all the details, from handling many emails from me (very type A), to asking qualified questions and anticipated things I had missed, she made sure that everything ran smoothly. Laila's organizational skills and proactive approach allowed us to focus on the event, knowing that the logistics were in capable hands.

Now, let's talk about the star of the evening—the food. Luxe Bistro exceeded our expectations with a culinary experience that was nothing short of extraordinary. The menu showcased a perfect balance of flavors and textures, with each dish crafted to perfection. Me and my husband came in for a Saturday lunch/brunch, having heard very good things about the bistro from some of his co-workers. Unfortunately we will not be back.

When we sat I received a dirty fork, which normally I wouldn't mind too much, mistakes happen, I asked for a new one and the waitress was very apologetic about it.

We ordered the beef tartare to start, and it was excellent, would highly recommend if you do decide to stop by. It came out quickly and was very good.

However, we ordered our mains at the same time as our beef tartare, which took forever to come out. Around 35 minutes. Which normally, would understand if the place was busy, but there were maybe 10 people sat, including us, at the time. We watched a table be sat, order, eat, pay, and leave, before we got our mains.

My husband got the mushroom toast, which he said was spectacular. However his side salad had rotten lettuce. We informed the server and she took the salad, and told us she would bring out a new one. The second one arrived and it also had rotten lettuce. At that point we just paid and left. The server informed the manager(?) of the problem as we were leaving.

I ordered the brunch burger and it was pretty good. I wouldn't order it again if I were to return, but it wasn't bad. I just wasn't a fan of the tomato jam on it, but that's a personal taste issue and not on the restaurant.

Our server (unfortunately I didn't catch her name), was very nice, but the who I assume was the manager was very present in the dining room, and never stopped at our table despite the several issues, including rotten food being served to a guest. Sadly we won't be going back due to the poor...

My spouse and I we try this restaurant a couple times, there is been always a great food and service.

Unfortunately this time it wasn’t the case, Yesterday we decided to bring my parents that came from Spain to visit us. They speak broken English, so I was mostly the one communicating with the server. He was really dismissive and rude.

When we were ordering his actitud towards me or my family was condescending. We wanted to order more drinks but every time he came to drop some food he will just sat the plate and then he will run away. He didn’t check on us, when we finish our food we were asked if we wanted the bill right away without asking if we wanted a coffee or dessert. We asked for coffees but it was delivered without the condiments as such sugar, we asked for it and after 5-8 minutes of waiting my spouse has to go to him and asked again because he will not came to check on us, again. When we received our check they added a plate that we didn’t order, when I looked around I saw him whispering towards a coworker meanwhile looking at us and laughing. I approached to them to asked them about it and then he raised his voice to apologize and flew again.

We felt rushed, unwelcome and probably we will not come back again.

My recommendation is that if you are visiting Ottawa by yourself or with your family try to avoid this restaurant.

If you are also a Queer/transgender person avoid this location too.

We would be treated better at the Rideau center fast food...
