We did a self-guided Tip-to-Tip and Beyond on PEI. Lots of fun and a serendipitously wonderful cycling group. We were a bit disconcerted when the map app stopped working a day or two before the trip. (It recovered, with an update of "Bug Fix".) Bringing our own bikes was a bit of work, but well worth it. Read moreI recently returned from hiking the East Coast Trail in Newfoundland with the support of Great Canadian Trails. This was an AMAZING experience for those who really enjoy hiking. You hike with an App that works great (even in Airplane Mode), they provide you with a GPS tracker (just in case) and the support team that they use in Newfoundland its TOP NOTCH! The "Shuttle Driver" Jamie is also a wonderful resource of life in Newfoundland and history and goes above what is required to be sure you have a good experience. The B & B owners and employees, like Sharon, Alvin, Ann and Lisa make you laugh and spend lots of time telling educating you about life in Newfoundland and the history of the East Coast Trail. In the end, I not only had a great time hiking- I thoroughly LOVED the people in Newfoundland! Definitely...
Read moreA picturesque East Coast Trail hike in Newfoundland offers awe-inspiring landscapes that blend coastal beauty with untamed wilderness. Traveling along the winding and in places rugged trails, you will enjoy dramatic cliffs, deep sea crevices, and sprawling ocean vistas at every turn. The vibrant wildflowers and tiny but tasty blueberries blanket the meadows, and strategically placed Muskoka chairs offer a well deserved break.
Throughout the journey, the hospitable and warm-hearted Newfoundlanders constantly reminded us of the region's renowned friendliness. These passionate locals are always eager to offer a helping hand. Upon the day's end, the retreat to the comforts of charming Airbnbs and tantalizing aromas of the island's exquisite cuisine are a welcome ending to a beautiful day to be enjoyed with new...
