Possibly the worst experience to happen in any store with these excuse of employees. First I call beforehand asking for an order to be made, explaining the urgency and need for it to be ready when I was in, which was 20 minutes from that time. I guaranteed them that I would be fine with it being cold, or soggy, or anything, as long as it’s done. The person on the phone assured and guaranteed to me multiple times that they would have it completed by the time I’m in, because I gave a bigger timeframe. Once I rushed over to the store, I asked about my order, and the lady asked the cook to go get it. The cook, who was sitting in the corner shoving a poutine down her throat while working, gets up and says that they haven’t even started. I asked them what they mean, since I called well before and was promised that it would be done. They just had a blank stare and said no it’s not, while giving multiple excuses. I stressed that I really needed it to be done asap then. I turned around to wait for my order to be called out, and saw another employee sitting with someone — seeming like a customer — who kept staring at me with angry eyes. I asked if everything is good with him, to which there was no response, and he then later came up to the counter when it came time to pick up my order, I don’t know if it was to intimidate me or anything, but it was definitely annoying. I dropped my phone while coming to get the order, went to the counter and said “thank you” for completing the order. This guy and his friend he was eating with then start laughing at me and saying things like “yeah that’s what you get, drop your phone, hope it breaks” etc. Was a disgusting experience, and to top it off, the food they “freshly made” tasted like it went bad 2 weeks ago. Never thought idiots can be hired for things and then create issues that was...
Read moreI recently visited Mary Brown’s Chicken, and I must say, it was an excellent experience from start to finish. I opted for the Big Mary Chicken Sandwich, and it did not disappoint! The chicken was incredibly crispy on the outside while remaining tender and juicy inside. The seasoning was perfect—not too overpowering, but just the right balance of spices. The sandwich came with fresh lettuce, tomato, and mayo, all tucked into a soft bun that complimented the crispy chicken beautifully.
I also tried the hand-cut fries, and they were a great addition. Crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside—just the way fries should be. They paired perfectly with the chicken.
The service was quick and friendly. The staff made sure my order was correct, and they were welcoming throughout my visit. I didn’t have to wait long, and my food was served hot and fresh.
The restaurant itself was clean and well-maintained, with a casual vibe. It’s not a fancy place, but it’s comfortable and inviting for a quick meal.
All in all, I was really impressed with Mary Brown’s Chicken. The food was delicious, the service was top-notch, and the prices were reasonable for the portion sizes. I’ll definitely be...
Read moreI was very disappointed with my whole experience. I've had MB since I was a child in NFLD and haven't been to this location in a while due to the food always being under or overcooked, never done right or seasoned enough. I was appalled with what happened from when we walked in and up to order since no one else was waiting to order. Not one employee acknowledged us to even say we'll be right with you. During the whole time we were there I watched as multiple people with non work uniforms walk in and out of the back/kitchen area and to the front cash area while customers were waiting and picking up orders. Employees walk out with these individuals and proceeded to socialize outside the restaurant and then come back in with gloves on and hair net fresh out of their pocket to put on and go work back in the kitchen touching my again overcooked food. I honestly will never go back as I know some other locations do at least slightly better with their food but all in all they have really gone down. Very disappointing being a newfoundlander and basically wanting to go back...
