No70cake — Restaurant in Ottawa

I am VERY impressed with the 3 cake slices I purchased today. It was my first time at the bakery and I wanted to sample a few different cakes. This shop was highly recommended by a friend and she was correct in her recommendation. The cake slices were TASTY and light and fresh and very nicely decorated. And NOT too sweet. Just right!! I spoke to the owner who is a classically trained Cordon Bleu pastry chef and also worked in the pastry field in Shanghai for a year. I will definitely be back and ordering whole cakes in the future. I’ve explored many bakeries in Ottawa and this is by FAR the best. I’m a foodie and know excellent baking when I experience it!! And I certainly experienced it today. I was going to buy a cake from grocery store but they tend to be so sweet my family doesn't finish them. It was last minute and I needed a cake that day for my mom's 50th birthday.

I came in at 11am and the lady was so kind and helpful. She showed me her binder of cakes and helped me pick one. They even made a dark chocolate rectangle with icing saying "50th".

By noon I had the cake at home, even came with a pretty candle. My mom cried when she saw the cake it was so beautiful.

Not too sweet at all.

Definitely will be coming here in the future. Can only imagine how spectacular a custom cake ordered ahead of time would be.

I was pleasantly surprised to discover this bakery last month and have been here three times since. I have tried out different flavours each time and never been disappointed! What I really love about these delicious premium quality cakes is that they are not overly sweet, and thus don’t leave you with that guilt you feel after consuming too much sweets. They also look really great. All the flavours that I have tried so far are wonderfully airy and very fresh! Too bad that they have only one branch in Ottawa. I have to travel almost half the town to taste this...
