This place didn’t live up to our expectations. We were 6 people and we ordered multiple dishes yet none of these dishes were good. The Mutable was tasteless hummus was ok falafel was also just ok. The rice and the stews were horribly bland. I gave just one extra star for the wonderful lady who works there. Ps(she was running alone serving multiple tables with wonderful smile)

It is funny how I knew that you will come up with the same old argument of “but the dishes were empty” and I saved my answer for that. My dish was empty because I was raised right. I was raised to appreciate food and not waste it. You (as Arabic owner) you should know this. Secondly, my dish was empty because I drove for 5 hours prior to my visit from Toronto and I was resting to drive another 5 hours to get back, so don’t except me to leave the dishes half-full just to convince you that the food is not good. As for our feedback in the restaurant, we did give a slight hint of how the food was not up to expectations, at the end of the day I don’t want to make a big deal of it while I’m there and waste the Waitress time while I already saw how busy she was. If I complain while I’m there it will look like I’m looking for a discount (which is not). Again the lady was super nice and she was working really hard to keep up with all the tables so it was really inconsiderate to complain to her and waste her time and that is why we have online reviews.
In conclusion
finishing the food doesn’t mean it was good. Not all of us have the time or/and the money for another meal
The whole idea of online reviews is to put pressure on the management to enhance the quality. So if come to you and tell you my feedback you will throw it in the garbage.
I really doubt that you will edit your reply to answer me so just embrace your mistakes and work on the quality....
Read moreOttawa Kabab has been on my radar for a while thanks to their incredible Instagram stories the presentation of their food always caught my attention. Recently, while visiting my brother in Oakville, I decided to plan a trip to Ottawa with my family specifically to try this restaurant, and it was absolutely worth it!
From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting, with an authentic Middle Eastern touch that made us feel right at home. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the service was quick despite the restaurant being quite busy.
The food exceeeeeeded every expectation. My two daughters couldn’t stop raving about the cheese pie and the chicken shish — both were packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. I ordered the mixed grill, and it was a true highlight. The kabab stood out as the star of the plate: perfectly seasoned, tender, and so juicy that it practically melted in my mouth. Each bite was bursting with authentic flavors that reminded me of traditional home-cooked meals.
On my brother’s recommendation, we also tried their famous kunafa for dessert, and it was simply heavenly. The combination of warm, gooey cheese with the crispy golden layers on top, drizzled with sweet syrup, made for the perfect ending to our meal.
Overall 90% maybe they need a bigger place I guess, everything else is just amazing. The quality of the food, the thoughtful presentation, and the genuine hospitality make it a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Middle Eastern cuisine in Ottawa. I’m already planning my next visit, and I’ll definitely be recommending this spot to family and friends.

Read moreI came to Ottawa for a short two-day business trip and was really craving Eastern cuisine. We went through all the available options in and around downtown and chose this place purely on intuition — and it turned out to be a great decision.
From the very first visit, we thoroughly enjoyed the food — everything was incredibly delicious. The kebab was grilled over charcoal, which gave it a fantastic aroma and flavor. We also had a piece of lamb that was unbelievably tasty — most likely a shoulder cut — and it was cooked to perfection.
We ended up coming back and eating here for both days of our stay while we took care of our business — that’s how much we enjoyed it.
The service was top-notch — the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The desserts were unbelievably good, and to our surprise, after we had already enjoyed plenty at the restaurant, they even packed some complimentary desserts for us to take home — such a kind and thoughtful gesture.
And the bread — wow. They bake it in-house right before serving it to you, and it actually tastes like real bread. You can tell it’s natural, without the additives you usually find elsewhere that are used to prolong shelf life. It was a pure, honest product — even the bread alone was a...
