Part 1 - The Order
I've been here a handful of times and never had a problem, until a few months ago. I made an order online for some pizza and wings, walk over and pick it up. When I get home I noticed they gave us the wrong pizza, so I called customer service and started walking back to the restaurant. Customer service answered their phone after waiting for about ten minutes which is about the time I get back to the restaurant. The staff at the restaurant told me to hang up as they would fix my order and a complaint against the restaurant makes them look bad. Not a problem, so I requested the pizza be replaced and also the wings as they would now be cold by the time I wait for the pizza to be cooked. They refused to replace the wings. I asked if they regularly on purpose allow customers to leave with cold food and they informed me that this is perfectly acceptable behavior for the Pizza Pizza franchise. So I made a call to their customer service to request a refund for my order after explaining what happened. Pizza Pizza customer service informed me that they could not issue me a refund and that cold over priced wing are what they serve to their customers in Ottawa. So I waited for my pizza and went home for a half cold half hot dinner and deleted the Pizza Pizza app. A few hours later I receive a call from a Pizza Pizza supervisor. The operator was able to begrudgingly credit my account for almost half the price of my wings. Yup.
Part 2 - The Re-Order
So a few weeks later I make another order for one pizza because I have poor time management skills and did not prepare a dinner, but alas I have my $10 pizza credit! What could go wrong? They burnt my pizza! The staff even tole me and showed it to me! I started laughing, I couldn't hold it in. No big deal right? Just make another one. Nope. He offered me a dipping sauce for my burnt pizza. Like how is dipping sauce gonna heal my pizza? So after some back and forth and staff offering me a soda that I refused, I paid the balance for my burnt pizza which I only agreed to pay for because I had a credit. On my walk home I deleted the app, contacted customer service to let them know what happened and to not be contacted about it. There are plenty of good restaurants on Elgin St and I have decided to vote with my wallet and shop elsewhere.

Read moreThis is by far the best Pizza Pizza location I’ve ever been to in Ottawa from College Square to Merivale to Orleans in the past 15 years. The Elgin St location is friendly, fast, reliable, and does amazing walk-in orders. The staff treated myself and my (male) dates with utmost respect for low income individuals. It was comparable to the scene from Lady and the Tramp where the two dogs get treated to a lovely dinner just because they’re “regulars” there - if you get my drift. I was pleasantly surprised with the atmosphere when I once ran out of money on two gift cards and my own debit card. I had wanted dearly to bring home a spare reasonably priced walk-in special pepperoni pizza to my women’s shelter. I was told just before I was about to leave that my pizza was paid for in full by a fellow patron eating there that night. It really made my day, and a whole bunch of other hungry homeless women smile when I got home. I highly recommend this location for awesome pizza, great service, a variety of dipping sauces and an overall wonderful dining experience for so-called “fast-food” pizza. Thanks very much to the staff. I will be returning...
Read moreIf I could give this Pizza Pizza location on Elgin Street 0 stars, I would. I placed an order at 2:53 a.m., well within their posted hours (they close at 3:00 a.m.), and they outright REFUSED to make my food. Seriously? You advertise that you're open until 3:00, but apparently, that means nothing here. The staff clearly didn’t care and couldn’t be bothered to do their jobs.
This isn’t just bad service; it’s lazy and disrespectful. If you don’t want to work until closing, then change your hours—or better yet, hire people who understand the meaning of customer service. It’s shameful and ridiculous that this location gets away with treating customers like this.
Avoid this place at all costs, especially late at night. You’ll just be wasting your time and dealing with rude, unhelpful staff who clearly don’t care about their customers or their...
