We came here as a family of 5 to have dinner, it’s a small cozy spot with 3 tables (tables fit2-2-4) when we first told them we were a family of 5 they didn’t want to let us sit on a table of 4 and add a chair. They said table is too small, then I insisted and told them we were a family with 3 kids so the table size is decent. We ordered few appetizers and sushi . The place was empty but lots of take away orders after waiting for 30 minutes I asked if we could at least get our Edmame! Unfortunately the lady wasn’t very nice and she said ā€œwe are busyā€ I completely understand that but since we were the only sit down people they had they could’ve at least gave us one thing to much on while waiting! Service was our only draw back but sushi was 10/10 all fresh and very tasty. We had the red dragon and house rolls amazing . Nigiri was great for the Saki salmon! Definitely worth a visit! It’s on our favourite list now but maybe to go next time!

Overall very solid sushi spot! Food: 4.3 / 5 Fish and ingredients were fresh tasting, with nice and thick sashimi pieces. The fish slices on the nigiri were a bit thin, but the sushi rice (which was seasoned more on the sweeter side compared to other places) was good enough that I didn’t mind the fish-to-rice ratio. The rolls had a proper filling-to-rice ratio, but could’ve been rolled a little better as half of the pieces were nearly falling apart upon picking them up. The fish slices on the mackerel nigiri however, were too thick and dense, which was excessively overpowering for each bite, especially for a naturally salty fish like mackerel. The unagi nigiri was perfect and seemed to be torched or grilled just right though. Prices are reasonable for the quality offered overall, so I’d go back for more!

I think I have a new favourite sushi place in Ottawa! I live in Centretown but was in Wellington West for an RMT session at Uppliva. While walking back, I saw Sushi-ro and decided to grab some takeout dinner. Prices are very reasonable and quality is great. Got an order of miso soup (very generous serving, at least 3 cups), the deep-fried kamikaze roll, and the spicy salmon roll. Some places in Ottawa have more rice than they do fish/other fillings in the roll; Sushi-ro definitely does not. I’m originally from the West Coast and miss the variety of sushi options out there and value for money. Very happy to have stumbled upon Sushi-ro. Will definitely be back šŸ£šŸµ

I am skeptical of reviews from people who have never had real sushi prepared by a Japanese master. Sushi has been a favorite food of mine for over 45 years and up until about 15 years ago I have been able to get it made by old school Japanese sushi chefs trained in Japan. There were several here in Ottawa and the last one standing had a restaurant I used to frequent but sadly he retired and so did the art of sushi in Ottawa. They all were run out of business by these $19.95 all-you-can -eat sushi buffets. Let me be clear, sticking a piece of raw fish on a lump of sticky rice is not sushi. It’s gross. If you want to know about a sushi master making real sushi, go on Prime video and watch ā€œJiro Dreams of Sushiā€. But with so many 5 star reviews from people who probably have never had the real deal I decided to give it a try out of desperation. I ordered miso soup, tuna maki, California roll, octopus sashimi, maguro sashimi, ebi sashimi, and scallop sashimi. The miso soup was watery, the tuna maki was good though the nori should have been more crispy. The California roll had too much cucumber which overwhelmed the taste of the other ingredients. The rice on the rolls wasn’t the best I’ve had but unlike most other places it was at least edible. The octopus was a bit dry and overcooked making it chewy. The maguro I think was bigeye but surprisingly tasteless. I will admit this may be due to COVID I had which killed my taste buds for particular foods. The portions were generous however. The ebi was quite small. Should be a 16-20 count size. They did provide 4 shrimp instead of the 3 shrimp portion to compensate. The scallop sashimi was very good. Service was friendly and prompt. It’s a small place an there are only a few tables for dine-in. Bottom line is this place is one of the best places I’ve tried for years so I will go back since it’s the closest to the real deal your likely to find...

I visited this place two days ago, this is a new place opened in this area. And suprisingly their food totally blow my mind away. OMG I would highly recommened their food to all my friends and family! The food we ordered was just tasty and nothing more we can asking for! The quality of the food was just so fresh, and it's very easy to feel the details and effort the chef was putting into the foods and this amazing restaurant!

Space is very clean, tiny, and cozy. Food is five star, if there is a seven star I will give seven! Chef and staff were very friendly, I'm sure this place will be busy in the future and be prepared for the line up! Quiet place and safe coomunity which is easier for you and your friends to chat and enjoy the amazing food at the same time, if you want to serve your friends a dinner and don't want lots of noise, this is definitely the place you want to visit!

I will definitely come back and visit this amazing place, and wish the best to the owner and staff of this...
