Topper's Pizza — Barrhaven — Restaurant in Ottawa

My first time ordering and last time. I ordered 2 large pizzas, one plain cheese and the other with green peppers and green olives, I specified only 3 times to make sure both pizzas are golden (well done), and that toppings are under the cheese, not over. I was told my order would be ready for 6pm, it turns out it was not, and I ended up waiting till 6:15pm. I check out both pizzas in the shop, and the plain cheese had a golden finish but not the gr. peppers and gr. olive pizza, that one was white with a few tiny gold spots, and the toppings were over the cheese not under, very disappointing and not how I ordered it. I asked the young man at the front to put that one pizza back into the oven to get a more golden finish. I waited another 5 min, and when I finally got that pizza back, it still wasn't golden lol. It looked as if they added a bit more cheese to cover some of the toppings that were showing and yet did not have enough time to get it golden properly. Firstly, they cannot follow instructions, I did not ask for more cheese, that's gross, I simply asked they put it back in the oven and get it golden. I did not like their pizza at all, it was horrible, and the crust could not carry the weight of the cheese of the gr. peppers and gr. olive pizza that they destroyed. I wasted all that time, and did not eat their pizza in the end, my kids found the pl. cheese pizza okay, more of an upscale pizza pizza, but not quite. The funniest thing about this experience was that I said it was my first time ordering when I placed my order, you would think they would pay special attention to the fact that this is a new customer order, who may become a frequent customer in the future?? Update. I received a personal call from the owner a couple days ago. He took responsibility for being short staffed that evening and very sincerely apologized. He offered to make it right, which I very much appreciate.

Stuff does happen. We have been ordering from Toppers for years and really enjoy the pizza and the service is normally very quick. I especially respect that the owner called and took ownership of the issue instead of just blaming someone else, which happens with other restaurants.

All is forgiven. Looking forward to the next order - still one of the best pizzas in Ottawa.

Very disappointed with these guys tonight. I am a regular customer and prefer their pizza but the service has taken a nose drive. My pizza tonight took 90 minutes to arrive and not surprisingly was cold by the time it arrived. I called the call centre and was basically blown off, I voiced my concern to the driver who also did not care. Direct from the restaurant it is a 9 minute drive. (Yes he may have had other stops). There are 4 other pizza places between me and Toppers which I am sure would value the business - 3 if you exclude Pizza Pizza. To be honest, I am more frustrated by the lack of concern than the long delivery time, no apology, no offer of a credit, nothing. Edit: The management reached out to me and addressed the below issues. They also insisted on replacing the two pizzas free of charge. The replacement pizzas were of much better quality. I've been ordering Toppers from this location for over 10 years, and it used to be amazing, but the quality has gone down in the last 2-3 years. Last night I ordered two large pizzas for pick-up. I got there 25 minutes later and there was only one person working, running around trying to do everything. One pizza was ready but the other one was sitting out waiting to be cut while he did other things. One of the pizzas was barely warm and the other one was practically cold and the cheese looked barely melted. The meat was almost nonexistent on the Montreal steak spice pizza.
